3 Hot metal production Steel has to meet the increasing requirements for quality. This affects both production plants and process management, imposing specific requirements on both plant technology and refractory materials. Monolithic mixes and pre-fabricated parts with their increasingly efficient binding properties have been created especially for these applications. However, due to metallurgical and process engineering aspects these materials are not always suitable for use in all processes or do not offer the user any specific advantages. The overall process of steel production therefore needs to be analysed and assessed. Our philosophy is to provide Refractories and Services in System to increase the efficiency, profitability, and quality of your operations. Invisible, but indispensable Only refractories allow the control of high temperatures. In the field of hot metal production, our main objective is to find and offer, practical refractory solutions for the customer at all essential stages of iron manufacturing. In recent years the share of monolithic products has steadily risen and castables, mixes and pre-fabricated parts are now increasingly used in the blast furnace environment. We can provide a selection of suitable products - from the coking plant to the blast furnace, transport of hot metal to the steel mill with torpedo and hot metal ladles. This market trend is a challenge that we are able to take up! Coking plant plant Starting with different installation methods we offer various solutions such as ceramic-setting mortar for silica and fireclay bricks used in coke oven construction and for pre-fabricated parts in coke oven doors. Blast furnace furnace EKW offers solutions to optimize the processes within the blast furnace. Depending on local conditions and installation methods, the blast furnace is lined with dry and wet gunning mixes. Bosh, hearth and tap hole are maintained externally with injection mixes. A variety of tap hole mixes in different grades for all sizes of blast furnace complete our product range. Casthouse floor floor We offer reliable high-performance solutions from primary supply to maintenance for tapping, iron, slag and tilting runners as well as spouts for hot metal and slag. In line with our main supply program we use unshaped products for the respective runner systems. Our range of products comprises casting, vibrating and self-flowing castables, gunning mixes, shotcrete material, ramming mixes, plastic mixes, dry vibration mixes and pre-fabricated parts. We also provide products for other plant components such as cover hoods and offer short assembly times and long durability. Hot metal metal transport transport We offer various monolithic products requiring different installation methods (casting, gunning). These increase running times and reduce specific costs of torpedo and transport ladles.
