Based on more than 25 years of know-how, the CERATIZIT coating systems meet maximum requirements in terms of extraordinary cutting performance. As a pioneer of the first hour, CERATIZIT CVD coating technology has considerably shaped and through revolutionary coating advancements focussed the further development of cutting technology. In 1972 already the world-wide first CVD multi-layer coating which was manufactured under the name of GoldMaster caused a sensation in the chip removal manufacturing industry. The intelligent combination of the characteristics of different hard material phases is even today still the key to maximum cutting performance. Whereas in the past there were simple hard material layers, today the incorporation of components which improve the tribologic properties of the surface is a feature of intelligent layers. Predominantly through special surface treatments the friction behaviour of the chip is positively influenced and the tendency to stick of the workpiece material with the cutting edge is significantly reduced. CERATIZIT HyperCoat-C is a coating system which fulfils every requirement of a modern coating system and therefore stands for the highest reliability during maximum performance. HyperCoat-C is suitable for a wide range of applications and excels in mixed production environments where the user wishes to minimise inventory. CERATIZIT HyperCoat-C CTC 3110 Turning of cast iron The new high-performance grade HyperCoat-C CTC 3110 is based on a recently developed substrate which combines the necessary toughness and heat resistance thanks to its specially adapted composition and grain size. The special coating provides maximum wear resistance despite temperatures above 1000 degrees Celsius, hard casting skin and irregular cutting depths which are common when machining cast iron. The state-of-the-art coating combining titanium carbonitride with a special structure, and a multi-layer aluminium oxide coating with a special atomic arrangement, is unequalled in its wear properties. Our new surface fi nish which provides the cutting inserts with a shiny surface is a fi nal refi nement that protects the cutting edge and provides customers with easy wear detection. 5
