INSTRUCTION MANUAL CONDENSER TYPE SPOT WELDING MACHINE Model : TSC-500 Battery Specialist JEONGWOOD TRADING CORP. Room 1509, Seongsoo Academy Tower, Seongsoo-Dong 2-Ka, Seongdong-Ku, Seoul, Korea. Tel : Fax : jeonguj@empal.com uj@jeongwood.co.kr URL : PLEASE READ THIS MANUAL BEFORE OPERATION OF WELDING MACHINE.

INSTRUCTION MANUAL Condenser Type Spot Welding Machine Model : TSC Name of equipment : Condenser type spot welding machine 2. Model : TSC Specification : 1) Input Voltage : 1Ø AC 220V 50/60Hz 2) Rated Capacity : 1KVA 3) Max. Output : 500WS 4) Range of Charging Voltage : 0 ~ 350V 5) Welding Speed : 1 stroke/sec. 6) Condenser Capacity : 12,000μF 7) Welding Thickness : up to 0.5mm(T) 8) Driving Force : Foot Treadle 9) Output Control Method : SCR 10) Weld Head : Dual faced weld(parallel) 4. Feature : 1) Welding energy stored in condenser prior to weld 2) Good to weld small materials, nonferrous metals and other foreign metals 3) Good welding capability 4) Non oxidization in welding 5) Stable welding quality even input voltage is varied 6) Short welding time(3/1,000sec.) than ordinary AC type spot welder 7) Less deformation of welding materials than ordinary AC type spot welder 8) Less power consumption than ordinary AC type spot welder 9) Available to use home AC power supply 5. Function : 1) Main Power Switch : Switch on and off of main AC power source. 2) Power Switch : Switch on and off of welder. Power Ind. Lamp will be on when this switch is on. 2

3) Welding On/Off Switch : Welding is available when this switch is on. Welding is not available if this switch is off. If needs condenser to be discharged and Welding On/Off Switch is off condition, press Welding Ind. Lamp button. (This is necessary to check if micro switch is good or not.) This switch must be off when it needs to adjust jig and/or welding electrodes. 4) Welding Ind. Lamp : This lamp will be on when welding is performed. Press this lamp button if needs condenser to be discharged and Welding Switch is off condition. 5) Charge Ind. Lamp : This lamp will be on during the charging of condenser after each time welding. This lamp will be off when welding is performed. 6) Voltage Adj. Volume : Adjust to take proper welding output depends on welding condition. For Ni-Cd/Ni-MH battery spot welding, it is recommended to have 110~120V range. 7) Volt Meter : Show welder charging voltage. For Ni-Cd/Ni-MH battery spot welding, it is recommended to have 110~120V range. 8) Welding Time Adj. Volume : Adjust welding time. If turn to counterclockwise, welding time will be shorter. And, welding time will be longer if turn to clockwise. For the beginning, start it at 1 st graduation. 9) Counter : Digits are changing to increase according to add welding. Press reset button to start it from ) Foot Pedal : Press to perform welding. 11) Head Pressure Adjustment : There are two circular knobs(upper and lower knob). Lower knob is to adjust head pressure. Upper knob is to fix lower knob at proper position. 3

12) Welding Height Adjustment : Release bolt a and adjust to move welding head upward or downward. And, fix bolt a when proper height has taken.(see Page 6 : Side view diagram of welder) Release bolt b and adjust to move welding head forward or backward. And, fix bolt b when proper height has taken.(see Page 6 : Side view diagram of welder) 6. Instruction to use : 1) Before welding : Connect power plug into AC 220V outlet and turn on Main Switch. Turn on Power Switch. Turn off Welding On/Off Switch and adjust welding jig and electrodes. 2) Welding Sequence : 4

9. How to adjust welding electrodes gap : If needs to adjust welding electrodes gap G at following drawing, it is required to release C and D bolts at first. Then, adjust to turn A and B knob so that electrode gap G becomes to closer or keep off. A, B bolt : adjust gap G C, D bolt : fix A and B bolt after adjustment E, F bolt : adjust to upward and downward 10. If welding materials sticks to electrodes : Adjust welding pressure by Head Pressure Adjustment knob. Adjust welding output by Voltage Adj. Volume. Filing welding electrodes tip by sandpaper. 11. Caution DO NOT open backside door of welder unit unless need any maintenance. DO NOT touch condenser terminals by finger tips when Power Switch is on. It is dangerous by electric shock. 7
