2 Walcownia Rur Silesia S.A. is one of the biggest producers of seamless and welded cold drawn steel tubes in Poland. We are continuing over 170 years of metallurgical tradition and the experience we have gained so far is our greatest asset. Our priorities include planning, implementation and improvement of activities aiming at ensuring satisfaction of our clients. 5 CERTIFICATES Walcownia Rur Silesia S.A. has a quality certificate ISO 9001 confirmed by UDT CERT Polska. We also hold UDT and TÜV certificate for tube manufacturing in accordance with pressure equipment Directive 97/23/WE and a number of certificates for production of tubes in accordance with: TÜV REINLAND - certificate according to Directive 97/23/WE related to pressure devices and requirements AD 2000-Markblatt WO. Germanischer Lloyd & DNV acceptance certificate of classification societies. ZETOM - certificate of factory production control WE. SIMPTEST - safety mark certificate and construction product marking certificate. I-st degree acceptance certificate of the research Laboratory. 5

6 PRODUCTION STANDARDS Production process Walcownia Rur Silesia S.A. produces seamless and welded steel tubes from carbon and low alloy steel in cold drawing process. All steel used in the production of tubes is fully killed. Delivery condition Tubes can be delivered in the following delivery conditions. +C (BK) +N (NBK) +A (GBK) +LC (BKW) cold drawn/hard normalized annealed cold drawn/soft Heat treatment is performed in a furnace with protective atmosphere. Technical delivery conditions Tubes are produced in accordance with the requirements of EN, ASTM, DIN, PN standards. Dimensions and Tubes are produced within the following dimensional range: 6 114,3 mm 0,8 10 mm mm Tubes can be delivered in random or exact. Non-standard can be individually agreed on client s request. Tolerances Dimensional tolerances are in accordance with applicable standards. On client request tubes can be delivered in non-standard tolerances. Testing All tests required by standards are carried out in our laboratory, that has acceptance of UDT lab. Anticorrosion protection Tubes are supplied with or without anticorrosion protection depending on standard and client requirements. Oil Akorinol 10N is used as anticorrosion protection. Marking and identification Tubes are marked according to standard and client s requirements: on label, on label and on tubes with indelible ink. Certificates All products are supplied with inspection certificate according to the standard EN Packing Tubes are packed in round bundles. On client s request tubes can be packed in wooden cases made from standard or ISPM heat treated timber. 6

7 PRECISION TUBES Precision tubes can be produced in Walcownia Rur Silesia S.A. as seamless or welded. Due to precise dimensions and high quality of surface (Ra from 4 to 0,8 µm) precision tubes are used in car, machine and precision industry. Their application can also be found in sugar industry for evaporators and boiling pots, in electro-technical engineering industry as well as in household appliances production. Precision tubes can be ordered with extra: leak proof test, non-destructive examinations (ultrasound or eddy current), reduced tolerances, lower surface roughness. 8 HYDRAULIC TUBES Tubes used in power hydraulics are tubes featuring extreme dimensional accuracy and very good quality of internal surface. Those tubes are subject to leak proof test by means of eddy current method. Due to their application, such tubes can be galvanised, chromium-plated or nickel-plated. 9 TUBES FOR PRESSURE PURPOSES Pressure boilers tubes, fine-grained and for applications in low temperatures, manufactured in accordance with European standards are mainly used in power engineering for production of boilers, superheaters, condensers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, chemical exchangers and in cooling and food industry. Tubes are delivered as normalised. These tubes are made in the degree of requirements TC1/PK1 or TC2/PK2. 10 TUBES FOR PRESSURE PURPOSES Line tubes for general purposes Line tubes are used in construction of any types of lines and pipelines in construction industry, mining industry, chemical and food industry and when manufacturing industrial fixtures. These tubes are tested for the pressure guaranteed by the standard - 7 Mpa. On customer s request line tubes can be additionally tested for increased pressure, higher than 7 Mpa. St37.0, St44.0, St52.0 Tubes for gas lines and used in flammable media transport These tubes are mainly used for pipelines for transport of all dangerous explosive materials, such as: gas, liquefied gas, petrol, crude oil etc. Tubes are made in two production classes A and B depending on the type of tests. Additionally, those tubes due to specific application are subject to impact test in low temperature. 12 OTHER Seamless precision tubes in accordance with: EN ; DIN 2391 in delivery condition +C (BK) used for production of mullers for mining industry within dimensional range: * 63,5mm, 88,9mm, 108mm, 133mm Basic steel grades: E235, E355, St35, St52 3,2 4,0 mm mm These tubes can also be made as welded precision tubes in L235 grade. Precision tubes used for mullers for mining industry feature increased dimensional accuracy, lower surface roughness and high centricity of the hole. Seamless tubes for construction of ships in accordance with: Industry Standard BN-85/ within dimensional range: * 10,2 114,3 mm 1,6 10,0 mm mm Basic steel grades R35, R45, A and E and also grades 360 and 410 according to the rules of classification societies such as: GL, PRS, DNV, BV Tubes for construction of ships are made in accordance with industry standard as well as specialistic standards of insurance companies. They are also used in construction and repairs of ships and inland as well as sea vessels. They are used for production of pipelines, railings, air-conditioning and cooling devices, control system and hydraulic elements. Seamless break tubes in accordance with PN-96/H in basic grade R35 within dimensional range: * 10,2 60,3 mm 1,6 7,1 mm mm Brake pipes are line tubes used for production of brake systems and other technical devices that are subject to TDT Supervisory Acceptance Tests (Transport Technical Inspection). Other services: 1. Tube and bar drawing, 2. Heat treatment of tubes in protective gases, 3. Tube straightening, 4. Hydraulic pressure testing: max 40 MPa for tubes with a diameter of less than 25.0 mm, max 20 MPa for tubes with a diameter 25.0 mm mm, 5. Non-destructive testing: ultrasonic testing for diameters of 20.0 mm mm, eddy current testing for diameters of 10.2 mm mm. * Other available on request 12
