A wide range of possible products are available. onditions of pressure, temperature, velocity and corrosion resistance govern the size, shape and selection of materials to ensure optimum dependability, response time and accuracy. Specification Materials We are experienced in the manufacture of fabricated pockets in a wide range of materials, including 304, 310, 316 and 321 Stainless Steels, 446 r-e, 6% Mo, Haynes Alloys 214, 230, 556 and HR-160, arbon Steels, hromium Steels, uplex and Super uplex Stainless Steels, Hastelloy 3, 22, 276 and X, Incoloy 800, 825, Inconel 600 and 625, Monel 400 and Titanium. Some suggested materials for various temperatures are shown in the chart below. Instrument onnection Instrument connections may be male or female, in API, NPT, SP or other thread forms. Process onnection onnection to the pipe or vessel may be by means of thread or flange. Threaded onnection Using standard tapered or parallel pipe threads for simplicity and low cost is popular, generally for low pressure applications. Standard threads are NPT, SP(Pl), SP(Tr) and API. The thread size is dependent on the application, but ¾ and 1 are common. langed onnection All sizes and pressure ratings are available to IN, S, ANSI/ASME and JIS or other standards. langed connections are now the petrochemical standard for all applications. Pocket Size We can fabricate pockets from a wide variety of tube or pipe sizes including 11 mm x 7 mm, ¼ N, ½ N, ¾ N, 1 N and larger, in a variety of schedules subject to requirements and process conditions. Reduced Tip or applications where a quick response to changes in temperature is required, fabricated pockets may be fitted with a reduced tip. The tip is machined from bar-stock, with a bore suited to the primary element, minimising the amount of free air space around the sensor. Excellence the World can Measure TM

6 lange Type (Table 6) illet Welded lange Most common type of weld. The fillet weld is used to join two pieces at a 90-degree angle. A fillet weld is produced by running a weld bead at a 45-degree angle to a 90-degree corner; it resembles a triangle when viewed from the side. The weld is used to fill the area where two pieces of steel meet, hence the name fillet weld. The depth of the penetration, as in all welds, determines the strength of the fillet weld. Loose backing lange & Stub lange When using exotic material, it is not necessary for the whole flange to be the same material. or economic reasons a typical 3mm thick flange with a diameter equal to the raised face is used. It is referred to as a raised face because the gasket surfaces are raised above the bolting circle face. This face type allows the use of a wide combination of gasket designs, including flat ring sheet types and metallic composites such as spiral wound and double jacketed types. The purpose of a R flange is to concentrate more pressure on a smaller gasket area and thereby increase the pressure containment capability of the joint. iameter and height are in ASME 16.5 defined, by pressure class and diameter. Pressure rating of the flange determines the height of the raised face. The typical flange face finish for ASME 16.5 R flanges is 125 to 250 µin Ra (3 to 6 µm Ra).
