4 304 /L & 316/L STAINLESS STEEL TUBING Due to its excellent general corrosion resistance, high strength-to-weight ratio and remarkable ductility, stainless steel has become the predominant material choice for hydraulic and instrumentation tubing. The two grades of stainless steel tubing that are most commonplace are dual certified 304/L and 316/L. Often viewed as commodity grades, 304/L and 316/L can be found in use in a multitude of applications within countless industries worldwide. Whether it be seamless or welded, domestic or import, or 20 foot sticks or long length coils, stainless steel tubing is our core competency. It s not only in our name, it s at the heart of what we do. CNG XP Tubing, manufactured by HandyTube Corporation, is a premium long-length coil that has been engineered with CNG filling stations in mind. This application demands a tubing product that can provide maximum flow over long, leak free lengths of a highly compressed small molecule gas, while minimizing potential leak points. This product is fully heat- and lot-traceable and meets ASTM A269/A213 certification standards. T316/L (2.% Min. Mo.) (UNS S31600/UNS S31603) CHEMICAL COMPOSITION % (MAX.) Cr Chromium Ni Nickel C Carbon 0.03 Mo Molybdenum Mn Manganese 2.00 Si Silicon 1.00 P Phosphorus 0.04 S Sulfur N Nitrogen 0.04 What is CNG? CNG, or Compressed Natural Gas is a clean burning alternative fuel commonly used for fleet vehicles. As more companies and individuals begin to adopt the benefits of this affordable and domestically abundant resource, the need for more CNG filling stations will rise. CNG XP is the preferred tubing solution when constructing these stations. Reduced Installation Costs The traditional solution for CNG applications involves welding pipes or stick tubing together over long lengths. This can be costly and time consuming. CNG XP Tubing is a truly seamless product, free from longitudinal or orbital welds, and is provided in continuous lengths. This allows for significant reductions in labor costs and installation time, and eliminates potential leak points. Creating a more reliable system in less time: that s the value of CNG XP Tubing. Custom Wall Thickness CNG XP Tubing has a non-standard wall thickness, engineered to withstand the high pressures seen in CNG applications. The custom wall maximizes flow potential and minimizes fill times, creating a more efficient solution overall. Restricted Tolerance Even when using high quality tubing and tube fittings, there is still a potential for a compressed small molecule gas to escape through spaces as minor as tolerance gaps. With this in mind, CNG XP Tubing is manufactured with zero negative outer diameter (OD) tolerance to ensure a reliable, leak tight seal when installing tube fittings. 7

10 OXYGEN CLEANED & CAPPED TUBING Oxygen Cleaning Process The process that our oxygen cleaned products go through meets the ASTM and CGA specifications listed below. An initial inspection is performed to identify any significant contaminants. The product is then meticulously cleaned and/or passivated, rinsed, and dried to ensure removal of even the slightest debris. Immediately upon completion of a final inspection, the product is capped and ultimately bagged while still inside the clean room environment to ensure the highest level of cleanliness and prevent post-cleaning contamination. Special cleaning in oxygen service is not only important for cleanliness but is also critical for safety. In order to handle the flow of oxygen safely, it is important to ensure that the path through which the gas will travel is free from particulates and lubricants that can lead to unintentional combustion. Oxygen cleaned and capped tubing has been specially prepared in a clean room to support product purity and eliminate combustion potential. CLEANING SPECIFICATIONS (CGA G 4.1, ASTM G93-03, ASTM A380) SIZE RANGE (316/L) Outside Diameter (OD) Wall Thickness 1/ Oxygen Cleaned Material In Stock PAC Stainless holds a stock of 316/L domestic tubing cleaned and capped for oxygen service in the select sizes listed below. If we do not have what you are looking for in stock, just ask. All tubing, coils, pipe and fittings offered can be oxygen cleaned as a special order. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS Semiconductor Fabrication Clean Room Applications Oxygen Enriched Environments Gas Chromatography ELECTROPOLISHED (EP) TUBING certified cleanliness The pharmaceutical, petro-chemical, food & beverage and semi-conductor industries all contain utilizations where fine smoothing of the tube is critical for heightened cleanliness, the removal of occluded gases or friction reduction imperatives. Stocked in a 316/316L chemistry with a maximum hardness of RB 90, the surface finish of the tube internal surface is certified to have a maximum roughness of 10 micro-inches Ra. The governing specifications for EP tubing are ASTM A269, A632 and A1016. For applications with surface finish requirements well beyond the quality realized in a standard mill finish, PAC maintains an inventory of electropolished tubing (EP) in diameters ranging from 1/8 through 1. Through submersion in an electrically charged electrolyte solution bath, a smooth uniform surface is created by dissolving imperfections. This process removes any contamination on, or just below, the tube s surface and passivates it, bolstering the corrosion resistance of the steel. CLEANING SPECIFICATIONS (ASTM A269, A632, A1016) SIZE RANGE Outside Diameter (OD) Wall Thickness 1/ In ISO Class 4 clean room conditions, each tube is purged with ultra high purity (UHP) nitrogen and then capped and double bagged. Certification qualifying the tubing s production standards, chemical composition, material traceability and maximum surface roughness is provided for all material. 11 317 L STAINLESS STEEL TUBING Similar in composition to 316L and 304L, alloy 317L is an austenitic molybdenum, chromium, nickel stainless alloy. 317L has higher creep, stress to rupture, and tensile strength than its 316L and 304L counterparts and due to the higher moly content, 317L provides enhanced resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking particularly in chloride or halide rich environments. This is a great solution to demanding applications such as those that can be found offshore and in chemical processing plants.
