2 Cryogenic Service Valves Superlok cryogenic valves are used in many industries in a broad range gas service such as oxygen, nitrogen, argon and more. The valves incorporate specialized materials that maintain resiliency and resist cracking when exposed to cryogenic media. Material selection is critical to ensure suitability for specific services. Refer to the table below for the minimum working temperature of body materials. Superlok body materials are subjected to low temperature impact tests according to standard requirements. For valves with working temperature lower than -100, the body, bonnet, and stem must be subjected to cryogenic treatment after machining. The ball and seat sealing face are subjected to cryogenic treatment hard alloy spray welding/overlay welding. Then grinding and assembly is carried out to ensure the adaptability of materials under low temperature. In addition, the packing, gasket, bolt and nut are made of materials suitable for low temperature service conditions. 3 Construction - Ball & DBB Valves Extended bonnets Gland packing is located away from cold area in cryogenic and low temperature systems. Valve operator is accessible in high temperature applications with pipe lagging. Extended stem also allows operation through bulk heads and other obstacles. Cavity pressure relief Used for liquid gas service and other applications where body cavity pressure may increase. Three variations are available: A small hole in the throat of the upstream port allows the cavity to vent to the upstream side, making the valve unidirectional. The hole is fitted with a relief valve for bi-directional operation. Self-relieving seats: the unique seat relieves excess pressure inside the cavity of the valve. ocking devices On manual valves, bolted plates allow all ball valves to be padlocked in the fully open or closed position. On valves with gear operators, locking devices are integral. Interlocking systems ensure correct sequencing of any number and combination valves.
