The mock-ups tested were representative of target installation methods. 3 Page 2 of Test Specification(s): ASTM E 331, Standard Test Method for Water Penetration of Exterior Windows, Skylights, Doors, and Curtain Walls by Uniform Static Air Pressure 5.0 Test Specimen Description: 5.1 Product Sizes: Overall Area: Width Height 5.9 m² (64.0 ft 2 ) millimeters inches millimeters inches Overall size Test Wall Test Wall Construction: The wall was constructed of 2 x 4, 8" 20 gauge galvanized steel studs, secured into a steel track at the top and bottom with #8 x 3/4" self-tapping tech screws then wrapped with a 2 x 10" SPF wooden buck. 1/2" sheet rock was then attached to the exterior with #6 x 1-1/4"self-tapping tech screws spaced evenly every 8" around perimeter and 12"up the studs. The sheeting installation allowed for 8' x 1/8" horizontal board joint at the center. The joint was taped with joint compound applied over top. Dymonic 100 polyurethane sealant was used to treat the perimeter joints to the wooden buck. All fasteners were detailed with joint compound.
