1 Position Description Position title: Talent Sourcing Specialist Group: Organisational Development Date: May 2018 This position description is designed to give an indication of the type of work and performance expected of the incumbent. It does not provide an exhaustive list of duties or performance standards and the incumbent agrees to undertake any other tasks that are consistent with the position and with the provision of quality service to the organisation. Purpose Effective performance in this role contributes to keeping aviation safe and secure. Overview of the role The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive strategic plan to pro-actively attract talent and strengthen the employer brand to contribute to the delivery of recruitment services for the Authority. The role of the sourcing specialist is to create, implement and execute proactive sourcing and research projects for a wide variety of roles, including hard-to-find niche and technical roles and build and develop talent pipelines for frequently hired roles. They will work closely with the Senior Recruitment Advisor, Recruitment Advisors as well as hiring managers and stakeholders to plan and deliver sourcing strategies as well as support on-going recruitment processes. 4 Key Tasks Design and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to build talent pipelines and strengthen the employer brand Develop and implement diverse sourcing strategies, including social media, referral generation, direct sourcing and networking Coordinate with internal units (eg, Communications and Web Services) to develop collateral materials for outreach and recruitment including the website, posters, outreach displays, banners and other pertinent prospective employee materials Create an employee ambassador program Track and report sourcing activity across numerous platforms Work closely with recruiter to follow sourced candidates through the selection and hiring process Build a network of contacts and pipeline for future opportunities. Drive effective field activity by tracking progress of passive candidates Support targeted diversity initiatives Project management Conduct on-going market research to understand local markets, competitive landscape and identify both traditional and non-traditional sourcing opportunities Assist with other recruiting projects through active participation as a team member Carry out work and conduct interpersonal relationships in a way that support the Authority s commitment to the principles of EEO and the Treaty of Waitangi Contribute to, maintain knowledge of, and practice effective health and safety management Outputs Outcomes High levels of service and support are provided to the recruitment team and recruiting managers Measurable increase in talent / quality candidates for vacancies All clients (external and internal) of the position receive accurate, impartial advice and courteous, effective service that meets their needs while maintaining or enhancing the reputation and integrity of the Authority The Authority is able to attract a high calibre of applicants for all roles and able to meet its current and future people capability and capacity needs. The Authority has available to it a comprehensive suite of effective, fit-for-purpose, best practice attraction and selection tools. 5 Person specification Bachelor s degree in HR, Marketing, Behavioural Sciences, Org Development or related field years in recruiting to include 2+ years sourcing emphasis to pro-actively build talent pipelines, including international recruitment Track record of effective sourcing strategies, especially in hard-to-find talent areas. Demonstrated ability to develop an appropriate selection strategy taking into account the role requirements, current and future. Skilled in current recruiting technologies, including ATS and sourcing tools. Has an excellent understanding of the NZ recruitment market and demonstrated experience in sourcing candidates internationally in a skill-shortage environment Comprehensive understanding of best-practice recruitment methodologies, processes and approaches Creative in the use of various attraction channels and design of campaigns Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate information, data and ideas into a language that can be understood by a wide range of people Highly developed organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively and manage competing priorities and deadlines Adapts easily and quickly to changing environments and is responsive to varying business demands Able to travel to fulfil job requirements as the role requires the delivery of services nationally in the following locations Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown and Dunedin. 5
