2 Strategic Plan MISSION The mission of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce is to champion sustainable economic growth leading to greater prosperity for business and communities in Manitoba. VISION The vision of the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce is to make Manitoba the best place to live and work. 3 Strategic Plan CORE FUNCTIONS MCC pursues its mission through its involvement in two core functions: I. Advocacy & Policy Development MCC serves as the collective unified voice of business promoting and protecting the interests of businesses of all sizes, in all sectors and communities across the province The Voice of Business in Manitoba. II. Programs and Services that Promote Business Member Prosperity and Enhance the Chambers Network MCC keeps members informed through its communications and events. MCC creates opportunities for business/chamber connections. MCC is a broker for affinity programs that reduce member business costs. MCC promotes training and education programs to members. Over the next three years the Manitoba Chambers of Commerce will actively engage in the following priorities: 1. Economic Competitiveness 2. Development of the Local Chamber of Commerce Network 3. Organization Development The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce - Strategic Plan

4 Strategic Priorities Economic Competitiveness MCC will advocate for innovative and strategic initiatives that will enhance Manitoba s economic competitiveness including: Fostering an Entrepreneurial Climate in Manitoba - Introducing business support policy and programs that promote business development and expansion in Manitoba. Removing the barriers to economic growth, with an emphasis on government financial policy and management issues and workforce development issues. Action Items Establishment of an Economic Competitiveness Working Group that will be instrumental in the development of policy. This will enhance work currently being done by MCC committees on Northern Economic Development, Workforce, Healthcare and Tourism. Greater emphasis and focus on policy development, research and advocacy work that supports our strategic priorities. The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce - Strategic Plan

5 Strategic Priorities Development of the Local Chamber of Commerce Network Undertake strategic initiatives that will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of local Chambers of Commerce to serve the interests of their local business communities and to maximize the impact of the Chamber of Commerce movement. Action Items Fully establish and support the Chamber Executives of Manitoba initiative whose mission is to help Chamber professionals of all sizes across Manitoba to unite, learn and grow. Work with local Chambers to provide a stronger more uniformed Chamber network and greater value to the business community. The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce - Strategic Plan

6 Strategic Priorities Organizational Development MCC will strengthen its internal organization, focusing on a) Building financial resources. b) Enhancing member value that will result in increased membership. c) Optimizing events and member networking opportunities. Action Items Create additional opportunities for members to get involved with MCC through policy development and networking opportunities at events. Our MBiz Breakfast series brings business leaders together to introduce and share ideas, discuss issues affecting them and to introduce each other. The connections made through this event could be invaluable to increase your presence. Various Chamber committees work and develop the ideas that will make a stronger and unified organization. These dedicated leaders come from all walks of life and business interests. They can help open doors for a new and growing company and offer advice that would otherwise not be available. Businesses affiliated with Chambers of Commerce convey to consumers and business partners that they use good business practices; are concerned with the betterment of Manitoba; that they care about their customers and are reputable. Each member will be listed in the annual membership directory pages and higher levels of membership will have their logo on the landing page on our webpage. The Manitoba Chambers of Commerce is a unified voice for our members and we advocate for your issues and make your voices heard.
