1 Job description Job title: Head of Corporate Partnerships Salary: 45, to 54, Grade: Inner London G2 Hours per week: 35 Location: Stroke Association House Accountable to: Director of Fundraising Accountable for: Corporate Partnerships Account Directors, Trust/Corporate Manager Scotland, Corporate Fundraising Manager Northern Ireland, Royal Mail team Introduction Stroke Association is the UK s leading stroke charity. We are working to change the way people think about this devastating disease. Join us. In the UK there are over 152,000 strokes every year. That s one every three and a half minutes. One in three strokes is fatal and it is the leading cause of complex disability. There are around 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK, over half have a disability and one third are left dependent on others for everyday activities. Stroke is one of the greatest health challenges we face today. We re taking action on stroke. Our Vision We want a world where there are fewer strokes and all those touched by stroke get the help they need. Purpose of role To develop and deliver the corporate partnerships strategy for the Stroke Association, securing a strong portfolio of clients from across business sectors to support Stroke Association to achieve its aims and objectives through first class leadership and management.

2 Key tasks of role 1. To set and monitor the department s annual income and expenditure budgets in conjunction with the Director of Fundraising and Finance 2. To ensure the Corporate Partnerships Team delivers and where possible exceeds its annual income target 3. To manage the expenditure budget of the Corporate Partnerships Team 4. To develop a robust and commercially focussed corporate partnerships strategy that secures partners from a range of business sectors and supports the Stroke Association to achieve its aims and objectives 5. To lead your team to success through long term partnerships, charity of the year partnerships, sponsorship, CRM relationships, gifts in kind, and payroll giving 6. To identify opportunities for the Corporate Partnerships team to enhance charity wide campaigns or projects 7. To work with your team to devise clear and prioritised lists of target companies based on the strategy ensuring timely and appropriate approaches to targets with the support of relevant departments 8. To manage the Corporate Partnerships Team, allocating and supervising the work of the Account Director Retail and Consumer, Account Director Royal Mail Partnership, Exhibitions Manager, and Commercial Ventures Manager 9. To ensure that all proposals, applications and pitches are developed to the highest possible standards, utilising the charity s brand, incorporating the latest available facts and figures, and outlining accurate budgets 10. To network effectively, establish new high level contacts within companies and maintain existing contacts with partners 11. To embed the Corporate Partnerships strategy across the wider organisation, ensuring a joined up approach to the securing and delivery of corporate partnerships. 12. To make a significant contribution to the growth and development of the Fundraising Directorate by playing a proactive role as part of the Fundraising Management Team 13. To make a significant contribution to the growth and development of the charity by playing a proactive role as part of the Senior Management Team 14. To maintain proactive working relationships with key staff in our Life After Stroke Services, Research, External Affairs and Fundraising departments to ensure that opportunities for corporate fundraising are maximised upon

To work closely with the Director of Fundraising and Head of Community and Events Fundraising to ensure major UK wide corporate partnerships are effectively resourced and successfully delivered in the nations and regions 16. To work closely with the Head of Community and Events Fundraising to ensure a planned and co-ordinated approach to securing local corporate partnerships in the nations and regions through our team of Community and Events Fundraising Managers 17. to ensure that all financial and non-financial information are recorded accurately and in a timely fashion on ThankQ 18. To ensure the Corporate Partnerships Team utilises the database fully in making new approaches to companies and in maintaining existing relationships 19. To work closely with the Corporate Partnerships team and with the Finance Department to make sure all income and expenditure is fully reconciled 20. To lead on fundraising for the Stroke Alliance for Europe 21. To be a trusted and effective ambassador for the Stroke Association at all times 22. To keep the Director of Fundraising regularly informed of all relevant developments relating to corporate partnership fundraising. Other tasks and requirements 1. To undertake any other duties commensurate with the purpose and remit of the post. 2. To encourage people to support the Stroke Association. 3. To embrace our corporate values, mission and vision in everything we do. 4. To be willing to travel during the course of your duties with possible overnight stays away from home. 5.
