2 Individuals Welcome to the 2015 Master Builders Excellence in Building & Construction Awards. This year s awards will once again be held on the lawns of the Skycity Casino at Mindil Beach in Darwin, on 21 August, The Master Builders Excellence in Building and Construction Awards stand out as one of the premier industry events conducted across North Australia, attracting somewhere between 650 to 700 industry players to a Black Tie gala dinner. The event features award presentations, music, dancing, entertainment and the opportunity for the industry to catch up for a chat and a laugh. It also provides the pathway by which Territory projects progress to the National Master Builders Awards. We welcome your participation in this prestigious event and the opportunity to share the celebrations at the Excellence Awards Dinner. 3 Individuals Entries Entry is open to the entire building & construction industry in the Northern Territory. Membership of Master Builders NT is not a pre requisite however non-members cannot be nominated/considered for the Master Builders Australia National Awards. Entries & Payment must be completed by COB Friday 12th June Eligible projects must be completed in the period of 1st July th June All entries previously submitted cannot be re-entered. The Excellence in Building & Construction Awards Dinner will be held Friday 21st August 2015 on The Lawns, Skycity Darwin. Entry Fees Member (First Entry) $ Member (Subsequent Entry) $ Non-Member (First Entry) $ Member (Subsequent Entry) $ The following do not attract entry fees: Apprentice & Supplier/Subcontractor of the Year Conditions of Entry The judges shall reserve the right not to issue an Award in any category; The judges reserve the right to establish if an entry has been entered in the correct category; The judges reserve the right to transfer an entry into the category they deem appropriate; The judges reserve the right to amal gamate categories if number of entries is deemed insufficient; or split categories if deemed necessary. The entrants must obtain permission and the owners cooperation in regard to access for judging; Judging commences 1st July and will continue throughout the month of July. The time and date of judging will be advised by ; Judges must have internal access to the building at the time notified for judging; It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that the required equipment is available to the judges i.e. ladders, vests, helmets etc. Each entry form must be completed in full giving all details; All documentation and photographs submitted with an entry remain the property of Master Builders Association Northern Territory. It is therefore recommended that all entrants keep a copy of their complete entry; The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into; The Master Builders Association Northern Territory reserves the right not to accept any entry; Category winners that are members will be entered, given a corresponding category, in the Master Builders Australia National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards. Every effort will be made to maximise publicity for all entrants, however entry in the Awards does not automatically ensure exposure to the media. Master Builders relies on the information supplied and authorised by the entrant, such as copyright, authority and privacy. Any discrepancies with these details will be referred to the entrant in the first instance. A winner may not necessarily be declared in all categories, a Highly Commended may be the alternate. 3

11 Women in Construction Award Judging Criteria This award is applicable to individuals and is open to employees of all levels, as well as business owners. Both self-nomination and third party nominations are welcome. Whilst in most cases a nominee will have worked as part of a team, it is essential that the information provided on the nomination form clearly identifies the role and contribution of the nominee. For third party nominations, the nominee will be advised of their nomination and requested to complete sections 4-9 of the Nomination Form. Nominees can reserve the right to withdraw their nomination. The form of the submission and any attachments is at the discretion of the nominee, and nominees are reminded that presentation is taken into account when judging the entries. Judging percentage weights are broken up into sections and are listed next to each section for your reference. Nominees must be a resident of the Northern Territory to be eligible for entry. Nominees must be currently working within the Building and Construction Industry or an Associated Service and have a minimum of 2 years within the industry representation, whether it is direct in a building company, a subcontractor or an associated service.
