3 Business mode canvas/swot -From the information of my company analysis I started making a business model canvas and find out there strengths and opportunities. Strengths: Outstanding personalized service Norms, standards, values Offers free shipment options to customers which adds experience and respect Opportunities: Expanding online presence (with high end technology) Sustainability focus on a high level Disposable income is increasing of the customers Speed (Transfer, Refunding, Re-transfer) Tapping the international market specially emerging economies

4 Drivers/ SWOT Weaknesses: The achievement in the current situation in case of forecasting and advancement in the upcoming trends is difficult for the company. Sustainability is on a lower level than their competitors. Sudden and rapid expansions also decrease the work of the employees and quite difficult for the management team to handle the fluctuating situations. Threats: The wide range of the products and the segments produced by the company is difficult to manage by employees. The upcoming competitors for the company get the opportunity from other segments by doing specializations. The main threat is that the company is more depending on suppliers. On the basis of my references the information and mix with my future scenarios I think the best Drivers (opportunities) to make Nordstrom a better company are Sustainability and Technology. This is something Nordstrom is working on and were they want to increase on. These are perfect opportunities to differentiate from their competitors. Nordstrom s service, values and experience is something were they are a leader in. If their focus on sustainability and technology will increase they will become one of the biggest in the world. Besides that there is a movement going on in the world were people 1. Sustainability on a higher level and as a share value Sustainability through zero loss on product making and developing. This will mean that their customer base will be a lot broader because they can reach people who wants to do something about our environment and most of the time these people are willing to pay more for that. 2. High end Technology, something what there already working on, they want to work with high end technology which is a perfect opportunity to differentiate from their competitors. In my opinion their technology service level is pretty low. Their company is not innovative enough and people these days are looking for Innovation and great service. Almost everything is digitalized these days so if were keep Working like this everything is digitalized in a couple years. Nordstrom have to work on this.

I found out that groups of people and movements started to do something about our environment. The interdisciplinary trend of care and saving the world is moving towards an era in which our planet, our most precious belonging, is being saved and taken care of by small amounts of people with innovative ideas. A total other movement we see is the comfort-movement. Where everything we make has to ease our life s. This last comfort-movement is about easing our life s, which means that lots of people want to live in a fake world called digitalization where everything they want they can do this through their phones and computers. This will evolve in something so much bigger. Through these drivers and information I made a quadrant to find out which possible scenarios their could become reality in a couple years. 1. Scenario 1 (Over consumed planet + High end Technology without face to face service) 2. Scenario 2 (Over consumed planet + Technology will increase but only face to face service) 3. Scenario 3 (Saved planet through sustainability + high end technology without face to face service) 4. Scenario 4 (Saved planet though sustainability + Technology will increase but only face to face service)

6 Final scenario The one I pick is scenario 3 because Nordstrom is such a good working company and the only thing they could increase on is sustainability and innovation. Besides that the world now a day is all about digitalization and comfort so people want to ease their lives through this and I think this is going to happen The number of people who are engaged in sustainability has grown enormously in recent years Every new innovative project now a day is about technology and sustainability. This scenario would be the best for the world and for the human being, besides that this is the best scenario for Nordstrom. Together with their strengths like outstanding personalized service Nordstrom will be one of the greatest in the future. Scenario 3- (Saved planet through sustainability + high end technology without face to face service) A consequence of the overconsumption and digitalizing can be that lots of shops disappear. Because the prices are going down of the products and the stores only sell cheap stuff may be that in the future may well have to close the doors. This could be real because the digitalization makes people do not want to shop anymore but only buy over the Internet. People are looking for to ease their lives through this. For stores it is much cheaper if they only sell things through their web shop because they cannot finance it anymore. This means that our kids could not experience the feeling of physical shopping. There will be a lot less stores in the world, everything will be online. You can use virtual 3D fittings through your computer if you want to fit something. In a couple years there will be 3D printers that can create our own clothes, fabrics can be reused through this 3d printer. Google glass look a like will be our new life, this thing will take care of us that we can buy things through this. Everyone will have 3D printers at home included a recycling mode allowing perfect fit and recycling. Because of this, we will catch up in terms of durability by preventing over-consumption will be more, but all become perfectly and then recycled again. Because of this will therefore not overconsumption anymore. It seems impossible but because everyone ditz do all this will be accessible to everyone, this is the same thing that happened 10 years ago with the phones, nobody expected that everyone on earth now has a phone and computer. This will ends in mega-digitalized world without any overconsumption.
