3 NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed bids will be received by the Platte County Clerk until 1:00 P.M. January 22, 2019 and will be opened shortly thereafter, for the construction of two grading and paving projects and other related incidental work. Bids will be presented to the Board for consideration on February 5, The Project sites are located: (760A) on 445 Avenue from Village of Lindsay Corporate Limit to the Platte/Madison County Line (520 Avenue) and (760B) on 445 Avenue from Highway 91 to the Village of Lindsay Corporate Limit, both in Platte County, Nebraska. This Project is referred to as Lindsay North Paving, C-71(760A) and C-71(760B) and shall include all labor, material, transportation and equipment required to construct: (760A) Approximately 2.5 miles of Cold Milling, Class 4, grading and 9 Doweled Concrete Pavement, Class 47B-3500 and (760B) Approximately 0.5 miles Cold Milling, Class 4, grading and 9 Doweled Concrete Pavement, Class 47B-3500 and related incidental work. Copies of the Bid Documents and Specifications are open to public inspection at the office of the Platte County Highway Superintendent, th Street, Columbus NE A set of bid documents may be obtained from Mainelli Wagner & Associates Inc. for a non-refundable fee of $75.00 (6920 Van Dorn, Suite A Lincoln, NE 68506, Phone: ). All Bid Proposals must be submitted on the forms furnished with the Bid Documents. The sealed bids may be mailed or delivered to the Platte County Clerk, Platte County Courthouse, th Street, Columbus, NE 68601, and should be plainly marked as, Construction Bid Proposal - Lindsay North Paving, C-71(760A) and C-71(760B). Along with its Bid Proposal, each bidder shall submit an unconditional Bid Bond or Certified Check made payable to the County Treasurer of Platte County, Nebraska, in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the total Bid Proposal. Also, each bidder is to include an estimated time of beginning and completion for the project with its Bid Proposal. The desired completion date is September 30, The Contractor will be allowed one hundred (100) calendar days for C-71(760A), and eighty five (85) calendar days for C-71(760B), after beginning work at each site. The Completion Date will be the earlier of the date indicated in the bid proposal or the actual start date plus the allotted calendar days for that site. Within ten (10) days following the award of the Contract, the successful bidder shall furnish a surety bond or bonds in an amount equal to or greater than the full amount of the contract. The surety and form of the bonds are subject to acceptance by the Platte County Board of Supervisors. Platte County, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4 and Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Dept of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of Secretary, Part 21, Nondiscrimination in Federally assisted programs of the Dept of Transportation issued pursuant to such Act, hereby notifies all bidden that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin, sex, age and disability/handicap in consideration for award. 8 We understand that this will be a lump sum contract and the total contract amount will be obtained by multiplying the Plan Quantities by the associated Unit Prices. If awarded the contract, we will furnish a surety bond and certificates of insurance as indicated in the Contract Documents.
