ALSO Environmental Management Annual Report

Our highlights in included the following milestones: Professionalization of environmental management by establishing an Environmental Management Board First ever external reporting of our environment-related activities and objectives Regular data collection in the environmental sectors that are relevant to us, to internationally recog nized standards Energy Efficiency Reduction of electricity and gas consumption through optimizations with regard to the heating and lighting concept and building insulation. Objective Activity Status, end Reducing power consumption Reducing gas consumption (heating) Reducing the power consumption of our printers Developing an optimized lighting concept Consumption and emissions, total Reducing the room temperature of our logistics buildings Analyzing and developing ideas for improving the insulation of building shells Analysis of IT current drivers in 2014, see also the MPS concept which has already been implemented and has reduced power consumption Lighting concept developed for Emmen 1 Logistics Center Implementation planned for In 2014 we will also develop a control concept (management system). Basic temperature settings in the logistics areas reduced by 1 degree Celsius, equating to a 6% reduction in energy consumption Building specification, inventory, U-value calculation of structural components for Emmen 1 Logistics Center compiled and calculation bases determined for energy consumption before and after renovation Consumption in kwh CO2e in kg CO2e in kg Natural gas / Heating (Scope 1) 1,457, , Electricity and District heating (Scope 2) 2,270,320 30, Total 3,727, , per employee Emissions (Scope 1 and 2) CO2e in kg per employee Natural gas (Scope 1) Electricity and District heating (Scope 2) Explanation of key indicators: 100 Most electricity consumption in kwh originates from IT and lighting in the logistics centers CO2e = CO2 equivalent

Packaging and Consumables Optimization of our printers and paper consumption as well as raising awareness among employees in order to support the personal contribution of well informed and dedicated employees. Objective Activity Status, end Reduce the number of pages printed in offices Removal of 34 printers in the ofdevelopment and implementation of fices and introduction of FollowMe ALSO printing strategy printing system Reduce the number of pages printed in color Switch to printing customer documents and ALSO delivery notes in black/white Year Printed pages Orders Total pages Pages Pages Total Total b/w color 6,443,658 1,584, The amount of color printing per order has been reduced by approx. 50% Number of printed pages Pages printed in black/white 2.50 Pages printed in color Explanation of key indicators: We measure our paper consumption efficiency by the number of printed pages. In this figure was 4.07 pages. We are very pleased that in the number of color prints fell from 1.32 to 0.68 pages. This result was achieved through the development and systematic implementation of thealso printing strategy. Elements of this strategy included introducing a FollowMe printing system, reducing the number of printers in the offices and switching printing of customer documents and ALSO delivery notes to black/white instead of color.

Recycling and Waste Management Recording and optimization of material and substance flows and ensuring recycling and proper disposal take place, in addition to preventing waste; systematic consideration of environmental requirements for our suppliers and disposal partners. Objective Activity Status, end Correct recycling and waste management Correct separation of kitchen waste Inventory of certifications of our waste management partners Since March, 3 metric tons of waste has been recycled through biogas production 93% of recyclables produced are processed by companies with ISO certification Preventing waste Gradual removal of all paper towel dispensers Switch to paper roll dispensers and air driers. Paper volume reduced by approx. 35% Total waste in metric tons Recyclable (Recyclable materials collected separately and passed on) Non-recyclable Waste in kg Total: 1270 t 93.4 % (1185 t) 6.6% (85 t) 0.80 kg Waste in kg Recyclable Categories: wood, cardboard, paper, PE films, metals, used electrical equipment Non-recyclable Municipal waste

Transport Reduction in and compensation for CO2 emissions caused by the goods contracted out to transport companies. Objective Activity Status, end Reduction in and compensation for CO2 caused by goods contracted out to partners Recording and analysis of current CO2 emissions with our transport partners Targeted environmental measures or offsetting Ongoing analyses with our 3 main transport partners Drafting and decision in 2014 Total emissions Scope 3 - Emissions caused by our partners as a result of transporting our orders CO2e emissions CO2e emissions in kg in kg 824, CO2e emissions in kg
