34 (i) Water Consumption Quantity Total Manpower in the river bed activity will be 11. Quantum of water required for all the purpose will be 10 lit per day per person. About 200 lit of water will be required. Water will be provided to them in earthen pots or steel barrels. It will be potable one. (This is other than 700cum which will be required for plantation on various occasions) (The above information is given in paragraph 3 of the EIA/EMP report.) (ii) Approach road Public road is available till the settlement of the Village Jopul which is 1.19Km on the north-western side from the proposed site. Further there is unasphalted (kutcha) road up to the river bank. This is used by the local farmers. The same one will be used with their consent. (The above information is produced in paragraph 7.2 of the EIA/EMP report) (iii) Environment Management Plan EMP is enclosed as an annexure along with this information. (It is uploaded as part of the submission along with the Form I). (iv) Cost Break up EMP Budget Provisions S. No. 1 Pollution Control spraying, plantation etc) Capital cost in Lakhs (Water - Pollution Monitoring (of environmental parameters like air, water, noise etc) - Annual recurring cost in Lakhs Fire fighting Occupational Health and safety (Checking health of the workers, 0.05 Medical treatment, safety equipment etc) Reclamation / Rehabilitation of mined out area ( additional plantation, land compensation, etc) Grand Total (The above information is produced in the paragraph 11 of the EIA/EMP report)

35 (v) Responsibility of implementation of Environment Management Plan. All the conditions of the EC will be transferred to Auctioneer. He is responsible to comply all the conditions of the EC. (This is as per the clause no 6(f) of the sand policy 2018 dated The clause is reproduced below: There will be Manager employed in the sand bed. He will be trained to carry out and implement various mitigative measures which have been planned. He will also coordinate with the concerned Govt department for monitoring various ecological features like Ground water, stability of banks, possibility of erosion at key places, quality of sand etc. He will be on full time basis. He will periodically note down his views. (The above information is produced in chapter 12 of the EIA/EMP report). B. District Survey Report was not having adequate and correct information on name of rivers, availability of sand deposits, replenishment calculations of sand deposits, drawing and cross section of proposed sand ghat to ensure depth of sand deposits. District Survey of Nashik District is attached at Annexure -II The lease area has been topographically surveyed and geologically mapped. The local Geology as could be observed & studied in River bed of Kadva River and its surrounding area. The River bed of Kadva contains Sand, pebbles and gravels of various size i.e. it mixture of Sand, pebbles and gravels. The thickness of Sand occurred up to 0.50 meter depth as per GSDA report. Buffer zone along/across the lease area in the river- Width of the river is 100m while that of lease is 25m. Lease area is touching the northern edge of the river bank. There is Palkhed dam at about 4 kms on upward side and one Weir structures at 2.5 kms on the upward side and 2.8 kms on the downward side. Besides this, there are 3 Weir structures at every 2 to 3 kms on the lower side. Palkhed dam collect and stores huge quantity of water and flow on the lower of it will depend upon the overflow during and monsoon and periodical opening of gates of the weirs on lower side. These structures are built to help agricultural industry go and their operations are at regular interval but based on the need of the industry, but most of the time river bed is water logged. The water moves with relatively slow speed and hardly any sand is exposed. Since the natural flow is obstructed by dam and weirs, so is the natural movement of sand. It is expected that quantity of sand from lease area up to first weir in upward direction is about

36 Thus the flow of water during and after monsoon, replenishing nature of sand etc do not take place in normal or natural way but by these structures. Buffer zone on the Banks of the river There are three water bodies on the SW directions at distances of 14kms, 18kms and 22kms respectively, The reserves in the Mining lease area 1590 brass cum. (please refer to paragraph 3.5 of the Mining Plan). Proposed production Period available Average Daily Production Manpower cum - 90 days - 50 cum - 11 As per the guidelines the sand mining cannot be carried out by either dredging or by using any machinery. Even tractors/ trucks are allowed to up to the bank of the river. All the activities are done by manual means. A cross section line (B-B`) has been drawn across the width of the lease at the key place in the lease. An image showing this line is enclosed. This line shown covers some portion beyond the bank of the river. Cross sectional drawing is given below:

37 The replenishment of the deposit will depend upon the rainfall in the area and flow (flow rate) in the river channel. This flow rate is not natural but is controlled by weirs built at various places across the river. Thus it is difficult to specify the quantum of replenishment that would take place afterwards. There has been very erratic rainfall during last few years.
