Operating within a multi-disciplinary service context, the Clinical Senior Podiatrist upholds professional standards and provides complex clinical and consultancy Podiatry services across the Riverland Mallee Coorong. As a clinical leader, mentor and clinical supervisor the Senior Podiatrist provides clinical support and profession-specific supervision to less experienced Podiatrists and plays a leadership role in the clinical education of staff and professional students within the Region. The Senior Podiatrist also plays a leadership role in the CHSALHN Podiatrist Network, collaborating with other Clinical Seniors to actively promote and contribute to research and evaluation to inform improvements in clinical practice, and holds a portfolio on behalf of Country Health SA LHN. As part of this portfolio responsibility, the Clinical Senior Podiatrist is required to develop, nurture and promote increased expertise and service improvements in the portfolio area, to represent CHSALHN on relevant committees, and may be required to contribute to or manage relevant projects. The Senior Podiatrist is line managed by the Allied Health and Enhanced Care Team Leader, receives clinical support and supervision from the Advanced Clinical Lead Podiatrist, and maintains cooperative working relationships with other Allied Health Professional Clinical Seniors, local team members and key stakeholders in the Region and State. Qualifications Must hold a recognised allied health qualification within the Podiatry profession, and fulfill all requirements to achieve and maintain current registration with the Podiatry Board of Australia. Special Conditions A current driver s license is essential, as is a willingness to drive on country roads and travel in light air craft as required. Intra state travel will be required; interstate travel may be required. Flexibility and some out of hours work may be required. In collaboration with the Advanced Clinical Lead Podiatrist and other Clinical Seniors, develop and monitor professional protocols and practices, to achieve regionwide quality and consistency where appropriate. The Podiatrist works under reduced clinical direction, and may contribute to the clinical supervision of less experienced Podiatrists, allied health assistants and students. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, including health professionals and service providers from other sectors, the Podiatrist utilises a combination of preventative, early intervention, treatment/therapy and evaluation approaches including individual treatment, group programs, health promotion and community development projects. Qualifications Must hold a recognised qualification within the Podiatry profession, and be eligible for (full) membership of the Podiatry Board of Australia. For those disciplines requiring Registration, all requirements to maintain current registration must be fulfilled. For self regulated professions it is desirable to participate in the professional associations accredited CPD program.
