15 A vision for ATM 2050 pure speculation? UAS sense and avoid technology? THE enabler for autonomous separation management the direct link between surveillance and FMS The aircraft performance envelope becomes the exclusive factor for safe aircraft separation Benefit: an ATM system enabling a safe separation of only 1 NM reduces conflict probability by more than factor of 25
