3 The National Certified Public Manager Consortium accredits Certified Public Manager programs by promoting high standards, facilitating program development, encouraging innovation and developing linkages with programs and organizations with similar concerns. The consortium sets accreditation standards for training and certifies members. 6 The University of Washington Tacoma Certified Public Manager Program (CPM) is a comprehensive leadership and management development program specifically design to meet the needs of public managers and supervisors in our state. This comprehensive 303 hour program designed to be completed in 12 months Includes credit for previous training - 50 hours of prerequisite supervisory training 50 hours capstone project completed during the course. 8 High-achieving, career oriented public supervisors and managers who hold or desire to move into mid or senior level positions. Open to currently employed first-level supervisors and/or managers with broad organizational scope and impact in city, county, state, tribal or non-profit agency. Those who have completed (or will complete) 40 hours of approved First Level Supervision courses and 10 hours of supervisory electives prior to certification. Who should attend? 8 K

9 Our courses emphasize practical application of current theory and practices. Condensed program reduces time away from work and allows participants to apply new concepts on a monthly basis. (Monthly, midweek classes for two - three consecutive days from 8:30-4:30 p.m.) Our focus is on both professional development for the individual and their contribution to the development of their agencies. Project work will be guided by their internal agency advisory team. Real World Application... 9 K
