Wrk clsely with the Educatin Enhancement Manager (EEM) and Educatin Enhancement Interns t develp an effective Student Representative cmmunity, and increase the psitive impact that the Students Unin has fr Reps, including increasing the number f Reps we train, supprt and engage with with a view t evidencing their impact. Maintain systems t ensure that student representatives and the Unin s Executive Team successfully influence academic discussins at Department, Schl and University level in a cnsistent and cherent way. Wrking day The rle will invlve a mixture f desk based wrk, training delivery and presentatins, meetings and student engagement activities such as staffing f stalls, surveying/talking t students. Principal duties Facilitating Academic Representatin Assist in: rganisatin and delivery f training and develpment sessins fr Student Reps. wrking with Student Reps t help them achieve psitive change and get the mst frm their rle.

2 wrking with the EEM, the Educatin Officer and ther staff t suggest new prjects/wrk streams t imprve engagement with and understanding f student representatin at Manchester crdinatin and delivery f a variety f Students Unin cmmittees, frums and events. cmmunicating the structure and functin f the Students Unin t Reps, the wider student bdy and the University, including attendance at University cmmittees and/r deputising fr the EEM where required Organising thrugh systems Maintain and develp rbust systems and prcesses fr recrding data n student representatin including Student Reps details, training recrds and recrding impact f student representatin ensuring necessary links with ther Unin and University data sets Ensure the maintenance f accurate recrds f Student Reps and mechanisms fr cmmunicatin between them and the students they represent. Maintain the Student Rep sectin f the Students Unin website. Wrk with EEM and thers t develp a cherent apprach t cmmunicatin including nline media, facilitatin f student and staff netwrks and regular updates t ur key stakehlder grups Supprting Vlunteers & Elected Officers Maintain and develp apprpriate recgnitin and reward systems t help t ensure that Student Reps have an excellent vlunteer experience and Initiate supprt packages t help t ensure Reps are effective in achieving change fr students. Supprt the Executive and ther senir representatives in their academic representatin f students, develping effective systems fr cllecting feedback frm Student Reps and ensuring this is effectively disseminated t infrm and supprt representative pririties. Encurage Students Reps t engage further with the Students Unin including participating in demcratic decisin making and standing fr ther elected ffices. Creating Change Wrk with the EEM and Head f Educatin and Advcacy t ensure that Student Reps are at the heart f student life, creating beneficial change thrughut the University. Assist the EEM in supprting Educatin Enhancement Interns n prjects. Take the lead n prjects t enhance student representatin and ther aspects f the Students Unin, actively identifying prblems, develping slutins and implementing them t cmpletin.

3 Electins Wrk with the EEM and ther clleagues in Educatin and Advcacy t supprt the develpment f best practice in Student Rep electins t ensure that Student Reps are elected demcratically and are representative f the student ppulatin. Administer nline rep electins in liaisn with University staff. Reprt and disseminate the utcmes f electins Relatinship Building Liaise with University staff and ther external rganisatins as apprpriate t share best practice and enhance the Student Rep experience and develp netwrks t supprt staff practitiners and Staff crdinatrs Represent the Students Unin at a variety f meetings, develping cntacts and explring ptential new areas f wrking/partnerships. Wrk clsely with clleagues within the Students Unin t identify prjects which wuld benefit frm crss-departmental wrking. Other duties as required by line manager.
