9 Site Requiements Tabletop Space 3 3Site Requiements 3.1 Tabletop Space The GenomeLab GeXP System is compised of the DNA analysis instument, an optional pinte and two (2) of the following: IBM PC towe monito keyboad mouse device Figue 1 shows the oveall system. Figue 2 shows the footpint and dimensions of the DNA analysis instument. Use this infomation along with the weight enty in Table 1 on page 7 to select an appopiate table o bench fo the system. CAUTION Ensue that the system is placed on a suface that is level and stong enough to suppot in excess of 200 lbs. Ventilation To povide adequate ventilation and convenient access to cabling, allow fo ten inches on the left side (facing instument) of the instument as well as at the ea of the IBM PC and the pinte. 12 Specifications GenomeLab GeXP System Specifications EMI Effect on GenomeLab GeXP Pefomance and Recommended Mitigations Unde the test conditions specified by the Euopean nomative electomagnetic compatibility standad EN , the GenomeLab instument may exhibit tempoay degadations in pefomance in accodance with Table 2 below. Because the envionmental cicumstances contibuting to the poblem can vay, seveal diffeent mitigation techniques have been povided that should help eliminate o educe the intefeence Table 2 EMI Effect on GenomeLab GeXP Pefomance and Recommended Mitigations. Test Condition Effect on Pefomance Mitigation Radio Fequency Field Intefeence (RFI) System exposed to electomagnetic field stengths of geate than o equal to 3 V / m at multiple fequency bands. May cause tempoay degadation of base calling accuacy. In some cases, significant noise will appea in the measued esults. Will etun to nomal pefomance once exposue is emoved. May cause tempoay loss of capillay tempeatue contol esulting in lowe than expected capillay tempeatue. Affect will be documented in the un log. Will etun to nomal pefomance once exposue is emoved. May cause tempoay loss of capillay tempeatue contol esulting in un not being initiated because tempeatue cannot each desied level. Re-un sample. Move location of the poduct by seveal metes. Change the oientation of the equipment by 90 degees. Avoid using tansmittes o cellula phones within 1 mete of the equipment. Review the tempeatues in the un log fo any anomalies and e-un as necessay. Apply mitigation techniques above. Disabling the tempeatue limit featue in the Method Edit sceen (Capillay Tempeatue box) will allow the un to be pefomed without desied tempeatue being eached. CAUTION The GenomeLab GeXP system equies five gounded electical eceptacles. The powe line to the laboatoy should be connected diectly fom a main powe line tansfome of a powe souce that is known to be clea of eatic powe loads, spikes and electomagnetic intefeence. CAUTION Powe lines used with this system must have an adequate eseve capacity to allow fo stat-up loads and the additional equipment of this system. Beckman Coulte ecommends that the nomal loading not exceed 50% of the nominal capacity of the powe lines. NOTE Installation of the GenomeLab GeXP PC contolle onto a local netwok is not equied fo the system to opeate. Installation, suppot and administation of local netwoks o intenet connections ae the esponsibility of the use. Netwok and intenet connections can expose the system to secuity isks, potential loss of data and possible system damage caused by hackes, softwae viuses o othe extenal factos. 17 GenomeLab GeXP System Taining Taining Plan 7 7GenomeLab GeXP System Taining 7.1 Taining Plan Basic taining should take place immediately following the installation of the system. The Beckman Coulte Field Enginee will tain two uses in basic instument opeation, use of the softwae pogam and outine maintenance. Advanced taining sessions may be scheduled fo an additional fee. Contact you local Beckman Coulte epesentative fo moe infomation. To optimize the taining session, the following peequisites have been established fo uses: Expeience in the handling of biological samples Woking knowledge of the Windows XP Familiaity with DNA sequencing and/o fagment analysis NOTE Beckman Coulte Field Enginees do not povide Windows taining. 13
