3 General Information Capture Transportation Storage source: 50,000 t/a of CO 2 from gasification facilities of the Yulin Coal Chemical Co., Yulin City, since ,000 t/a CO 2 from gasification facilities of the Yulin Energy Chemical Co., 100 KM southwest of Yulin City (planning) Type: Pre-combustion (gasification) Method: Absorption physical solvent-based process - Recti sol Tanker trucks + Pipeline(Planning) Yulin City to Jingbian injection site: 140KM Jingbian Industrial Park to Jingbian Injection site: 42KM Site: Primary injection site is the Jingbian oilfield of the Yanchang oil field Additional test volumes have been injected into the Wuqi oilfield Xingzichuan oilfield (planning, 105KM) Purpose: EOR Formation and Depth: Yanchang Formation in Triassic for Jingbian CO 2 injection site ; 1,500 to 2,200 below the surface

5 INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION This project was noted as a cooperation project in the US-China Joint Presidential Statement on Climate Change in September The two countries have identified the project site in Yan An- Yulin, Shan xi Province, China, operated by Shan xi Yanchang Petroleum.

9 Main Tasks 1. Low cost CO2 capture technology in coal chemical industry 2012, the tons p.a. CO2 capture - Yulin Coal-chemical Company by rectisol technology High concentration CO2 Capture cost: 25USD/ton Low concentration CO2 Capture: developed the industrialization process package and built the pilot plant.

11 Main Tasks 3. CO 2 fracturing technology Ultra-low density proppant without thickening and dry carbon dioxide fracturing has been successfully implemented in Yanchang 4 shale gas exploration area of continental shale gas field

12 Main Tasks 4. Injection-production string design and anticorrosion technology Optimize the ordinary carbon steel and corrosion inhibit or matching technology and its application effect is well Production system Injection system

13 Main Tasks 5. CO 2 geologic sequestration capacity evaluation system To evaluate the CO2 sequestration potential of the extended ultra-low permeability reservoir, the effective sealing capacity of CO2 in the Yanchang oilfield is calculated to be about 400M tones

14 Main Tasks 6. CO 2 EOR safety monitoring system subsurface -surface-aboveground CO2 geologic sequestration safety warning system

15 ACHIEVEMENTS 1. Qiao-Jia-Wa Pilot Two pilot test area with 10 injection gas wells had been built, cumulative injection of 66200t, and show a good oil displacement effect, the dynamic storage reach to tons.

16 ACHIEVEMENTS 2. Wuqi Pilot: 5 injection wells,14 production wells, cumulative injection 8800t CO2, daily oil production improved from 2.22 t to 2.53 t, increased oil production 900t.

17 ACHIEVEMENTS 3. New Build (for the 0.36 Mtpa facility of Yulin Energy Chemical Co., ): The feasibility study report has been completed and planned to be completed and put into operation in 2018.

19 General Objective - Strive to build China's first megaton CCS flagship project - Form a comprehensive technology and standards of coal chemical industry CO2 capture/eor and storage - Create a professional team of carbon capture, transportation, storage and monitoring - Drive oil exploration technology and CCS business model to provide the experience for low carbon development in other areas of China.
