Primary Purpose: To provide technical expertise, information requirements identification & analysis, as well as user support for a range of clinical information systems in use within the BOPDHB.

2 The primary focus of this role is to administer clinical information systems to support patient care activities and customer support for system users. Identify and analyse clinical process and information requirements to facilitate patient care improvements through information solutions. Customisation of appearance and functionality development within the frameworks provided by application vendors (web page design, interactive web form design). Implement application changes as required following approved change management. Processes & Participation in ongoing projects. Key Responsibilities Clinical Applications Support Providing day to day operational support for Clinical systems to both BOPDHB and other Midland DHB users. Commitment to customer service and effective communication with appropriate management and resolution of concerns, requests and issues raised by Customers. To assist in the investigation of business requirements, scoping of application enhancements, implications on current business practices and development of business cases. Systems and processes are developed & maintained to ensure data integrity & appropriate records management. Participation in scheduled after hours availability roster providing second tier support for critical clinical applications. Team Involvement Work closely with other members of the Information Management team providing advice relating to the Clinical applications. Demonstrate an active interest and commitment to maintaining appropriate professional qualifications / training Perform such other duties as reasonably required by the manager in accordance with the conditions of the position Outcomes Behaviour consistently reflects a commitment to customer service and effective communication with users. Customer management processes exist for timely logging, prioritisation, resolution and communication. Helpdesk calls are monitored and updated appropriately. Users are effectively engaged to ensure process change arising from projects is appropriately identified, planned, communicated and implemented to ensure desired outcomes and minimum disruption. Effective data validation & reconciliation processes are identified documented and monitored regularly and distributed to appropriate users. Critical clinical applications are supported out of hours to ensure urgent issues are dealt with in expected reasonable time frames. Close collaboration within the IM team and the DHB customers results in improvements in both the use of the Clinical applications and the business results. All other additional duties are performed in an efficient manner, to the required standard and within a negotiated timeframe

At least 2 years experience Previous experience in a supporting complex Healthcare environment applications in a medium to large organisation Knowledge of Health information systems with an understanding of the business processes and workflows Understanding of relational database engines and application architectures Technical and business documentation creation Well organised with good attention to detail and ability to multitask Experience in application development and database integration Understanding of system integration Working knowledge or support experience in any of the following: Patient Administration Systems Clinical Results Repositories Clinical Workstation Integration engines Strong work ethic Excellent time management skills Self-motivated Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills. 4 You agree to demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to perform a variety of tasks to promote and support BOPDHB initiatives. You are required to meet the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 requirements as set out in the BOPDHB Health and Safety policies and protocols. This includes completing successfully any health and safety training provided by the BOPDHB. You are required to maintain a standard of health which will allow for the performance of all duties and functions of the position. All BOPDHB sites are smokefree environments.
