3 Preface (SPPAL) is active in combined business for airport and postal logistics with a long history and as market leader in material handling. We have a tradition of more than 30 years of experience in building individual material handling solutions for our customers worldwide. Our products help our customers to fulfill their mission and improve their business. Headquartered in Constance, Germany, SPPAL has a global setup of several regional companies. SPPAL operate for two large groups of customers: Airports and Airlines customers for baggage and cargo handling systems Courier, Express, Parcel (CEP) and Postal Service for a range of letter and parcel sorting machines combined with address reading and coding solutions Software solutions as well as the comprehensive services offered by SPPAL are equally attractive for both airport and postal customers. The quality of our products and services together with our innovations ensure the competitiveness of our customers and partners. Our environmentally friendly products and systems are recognized around the world for their reliability, safety, long service life and cost effectiveness. 7 Environmental Objectives Environmental objectives At SPPAL, we regard environmental protection as an entrepreneurial task, as part of our commitment to social responsibility, and success factor. We are committed to preserving natural resources. Consideration of environmental and energy aspects beyond legal requirements is an integral part of our business processes. Activities at the Constance location For fiscal 2017/2018, plans are in place to reduce power consumption at the server farms by 5 percent and by 10 percent in the following fiscal year. Consumption in fiscal 2016/2017 serves as the baseline. The target will be reached through rigorous optimization of the server standby mode. Moreover, plans have been made to increase the separation rate for commercial municipal waste according to the Commercial Waste Ordinance from April 18, The target for fiscal 2017/2018 is a separation rate of more than 80 percent, and for the following fiscal year 90 percent. 10 Quality Management System ISO 9001 The Quality Management System (QMS) is implemented, proven and certified since many years We continuously adapt our QMS by best practice sharing We evaluate our QMS on a regular basis through audits and assessments We initiate, implement, measure and track process improvements continuously We expect our personnel to reach results of high quality in all process phases We intensively promote our quality culture Our QMS is based on the three quality cornerstones: Products (Services), Personnel, and Processes Our QMS is a fully integrated process in the Process House QMS = Quality Management System Page 10
