2 2 Welcome to A B Established since 1974, the family have built a reputation as craftsmen of luxury homes. A B was founded by Alan with 75, the business undertook decorating to building extensions, as more customers heard of the quality and, in particular the meticulous attention to detail applied to the work, the more specialised the work became with projects such as pools, oast houses, barn conversions and new homes. In 1982, Michael left school and joined the business and a partnership was formed in 1987 and the business was renamed A B & Son. In 2008, we started working direct for many leading banks and still do to this day. These works are dealing with the completion of all planning & building works on various size sites across the South East and South London, which have been taken into their recovery department. We would complete these new homes and hand back for sale to the open market. A B & Son are now renowned for building high quality luxury homes, apartments and restoration works throughout the South East and South London. We have built in excess of 200 properties since 2002, these range from 1 bed apartments to super homes with indoor pools located in private parks in South London. A B & Son is a NHBC registered builder and has met their strict criteria. The company became a member in September 1989 and in April 2005 achieved Category A1 National House-Builder. Every project takes equal priority and the same care and attention is applied throughout. We truly believe that we create homes, not just build houses. By giving every home its own unique identity, we can provide new owners with a feeling of exclusivity when they move in.

10 10 NHBC Warranty A B & Son is a NHBC registered builder and has met their strict criteria. The company became a member in September 1989 and in April 2005 achieved Category A1 National House-Builder. A1 NHBC is the highest level of membership available and is linked to financial/ quality proven over many years. 12 12 Health & Safety Policy A B & Son herein referred to as The Company will ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the Health, Safety and Welfare of everyone engaged in or affected by its activities in accordance with the current health and safety legislations. In particular the Company will ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable: 1) Safe and Healthy working conditions and systems of work, which when carried out, will not affect their or other persons. 2) Facilities for employer/employee consultation on Health and Safety manners. 3) A commitment to the provision of relevant information, instruction and training in respect of their Health and Safety which may arise out of their work or workplace. 4) Safe arrangements for the use, handling, storage and transport of materials and substances. 5) Protective clothing and safety equipment to conform to statutory requirements. 6) The contractors working for A B & Son will observe this policy. The company further undertakes to ensure that adequate resources are available for the implementation of this policy. To include as necessary the retention of Health and Safety support to provide expert advice necessary to determine the risks to Health and Safety in the type of work carried out by the company. To review the company policy as required to ensure compliance with current legislation and good working practices. This Policy will be reviewed annually. 14 14 Plant Hire As our business expanded, Plant Hire was set up to enable all plant used on sites to be available as and when required, giving total control and flexibility to all sites. All our machines are available for hire to other companies. We have invested heavily in the last 18 months in replacing and increasing our plant. We have just taken delivery in 2013 of 6 new JCB machines with an investment in the company of 250,000. 16 Testimonial My firm s involvement with A B & Son now spans two generations. In the early 1980 s my colleague John Ingrams, who administers all our design work, met with Alan. At that time Alan was refocusing his business and specialising in exclusively local work in the Weald. Our first major project with Alan was the conversion of an oasthouse which coincidentally was for one of our Senior Partners at the time. The success of this project led to a significant number of major conversions of farm buildings to dwellings or restoration of existing dwellings where my firm dealt with the planning, design and contract supervision and Alan and his son Michael acted as main contractor. Looking back it is interesting to recall one of Alan s projects was actually the first planning development exercise which I managed upon joining Lambert & Foster. I believe this was also one of the first contracts in which Alan and Michael shared the active management responsibilities of A B & Son. More recently we have seen the transition of this traditional building business into a diverse construction company. Michael has demonstrated an ability of bringing the skills and standards required in delivering bespoke projects for private clients to the industry of speculative development. This is a rare attribute in the ever changing world of development and is entirely due to the sound administration and support service, where Michael is very fortunate to have the skills of his sister Sharon running the office and Michael s personal involvement in day to day supervision of projects which maintains the high quality of work synonymous with this firm.
