I'i'i.?'r;c.'!j ('?a(ia '.!'3'i Q!' - Jjl'l??"-l') i" v?#?. -3 '. +?34'J-(3,Z X 4 Subject: Request for Proposal (RFP) No Cab and Trailer Car Fixed Seats Dear Sir/Madam: This is being issued to provide Metra's response to questions submitted to date for Metra's Request for Proposal No , Cab and Trailer Car Fixed Seats, to revise the table of contents and Exhibit 1-H-1 -K omitted page and to attach Exhibit l -G, which was inadvertently omitted from the solicitation package. This shall become part of the RFP and be incorporated into your proposal submittal. All addenda are to be acknowledged on page 24 of the Professional Services Agreement. Failure to aclaiowledge addenda may at Metra's option disqualify the Proposal. Should you require any additional information, please contact Alexis Karas, Acting Department Head, Professional Services Procurement at or akaras@metrarr.com. Question 1: In the latest Metra Annual Procurement Plan, the Fixed Seating - Passenger Cars project has been estimated with a total budget amount of $18 million. How much of this atnount has been committed to this project? Metra Response: Sufficient funding is committed to purchase the minimum amount specified in this Indefinite Quantity Indefinite Delivery contract. Question 2: Is Metra contemplating any replacement seats for the rail cars that doesn't have a bathroom? If so, what is your plan? Metra Response: Section 1 of Exhibit l-d, Metra Specification M states the requirement is to replace seats in Metra Gallery & Highliner cars. Please refer to the installation layout drawings attached in Appendix A for bidding purposes. Question 3 : In Appendix A, page 4, the design of the seat appears to be the airline style. Is this the general look Metra is looking for, or is this page added to show the where and how the seats are to be installed? Metra Response: The detail on page 4, Appendix A is seating general arrangement for installation only. Seat manufacturer shall propose the design for Metra's review and approval. Question 4: Should the seats be able to change the facing direction (i.e., be able to rotate or have the seatback moved so that the passenger can always face forward)? Metra Response: No, the requirement is for?fixed Seats" only. l

2 Question s: Page 7 of 10 Section 7.3 Firrn's Experience and Capabilities Section 7.3.l. states?provide a list of Contractor's key staff to be assigned to this project along with their respective experience ("Key Personnel?). Key Personnel should include project manager, engineering manager, quality/field service manager/engineer, personnel performing the training and the project manager for training. Key Personnel will be subject to the restrictions in Metra Specification M Include an organization chart and resumes. Key Personnel shall have a minimiun of five (5) years' experience each with the design and production of passenger seats in mass transit applications.? For clarification will you accept key staff as key vendors? And will you accept?mass transit application? as including bus seating and other transit vehicles? Metra Response: Key staff may be personnel of the proposer's firm or a sub-contractor. The key is to detail experience of the personnel to be assigned to the project regardless of employer, and also to provide an organization chart so the responsibilities of each firm and key team member are clear.
