3 Requirements of SONCAP To comply, each individual consignment of regulated products must be accompanied by a SONCAP Certificate of Conformity (CoC). This applies to all products, even if prior import arrangements are in place. It is the exporter, not importer who is responsible. The SONCAP CoC must have been issued by an accredited inspection agency and submitted digitally to SON's portal. Exporters should declare the HS Code of the products being shipped prior to Product Certificate 1,2 or 3 stage. Once issued, the certificate is sent via electronic transfer to the Standards Organisation of Nigeria s portal. The Product Certificate must have been issued either through Route A (PC 1 /Unregistered) or through Route C (PC3 / License). Additional Compliance Considerations SONCAP Certified products must carry a certified Product Authentication Mark (PAM). PAM Stickers must be submitted before SON final clearance of goods from Ports of Entry. All containerised cargo destined for import into Nigeria must be palletised.
