1 AUTOSTAT PRODUCT DATA SHEET Heat stabilised polyester film has low residual shrinkage at elevated temperatures. This is essential when tight registration tolerances need to be maintained during multiple printing operations.. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Autostat is a high quality stabilised polyester film, with a shrinkage specification of <0.3% MD at 50 C (typically <0.% at 20 C), and state of the art lay flat and roll formation properties. It is available in sheets and rolls. Product Range: Autostat CT3 - clear, adhesion treated, 75 micron Autostat CT4 - clear, adhesion treated, 00 micron Autostat CT5 - clear, adhesion treated, 25 micron Autostat CT7 - clear, adhesion treated, 75 micron Autostat HT5 - hazy, adhesion treated, 25 micron Autostat AHU5- hazy, not adhesion treated, 25 micron Autostat - opaque white satin finish, adhesion treated, 25 micron Other grades and thicknesses available on request. 2. PRODUCT APPLICATIONS Autostat is used for the manufacture of membrane and conventional switch circuitry layers such as computer keyboards. Autostat can be used as a general printing substrate where a white background is required, eg labels, insert graphics. As a top circuitry layer Autostat backs up colours on the graphics overlay, increasing their capacity whilst totally hiding the circuitry underneath. The white colour also acts as an excellent reflector for surface mount LEDs. 3. PRODUCT PERFORMANCE THERMAL! 2 4. TD (transverse direction) SHRINKAGE AT 50 C FOR 30 MINUTES TD shrinkage is much lower than MD shrinkage and may even be completely absent. When the film does not shrink at all a small positive expansion may take place. A typical result for 25µ Autostat would be MD -0.2% and TD +0.02%. 5. INK ADHESION The adhesion treatment used on the CT, HT and WT grades uses the industry standard chemistry. This treatment enhances adhesion of UV curable dielectric ink, but may not be fully compatible with certain conductive silver inks. See chart below. 5. 3 6. OZONE DEPLETING SUBSTANCES EC Regulation 594/9 classifies ozone depleting substances into a number of different groups, I-VI. Autostat does NOT contain any substance classified in groups I-VI nor have any of the substances been used by Autotype during manufacture. For details of the content of each of the groups, please see separate Ozone Depleting Substances document.
