This Addendum must be acknowledged by inserting the date of the Addendum on the Bid Addenda Form (page 14 in Instructions to Bidders) to be submitted with your Bid. Failure to do so may render the Bidder's proposal as nonresponsive. A, General 1. 3 Questions and Answers AMZK / Bus Garage Fire Rated Folding Accordion Doors Q1. We understand there may be some air pressure differential through some ofthe openings. What is level ofair pressure in inches ofwater column? Al. Per SEPTA Mechanical Engineering Group, fire rated door shall stand up to 4" W.C. Pressure. Q2. The Invitation to bid dated February 27, 2017 states that the contract duration is 180 calendar days from the notice to proceed. The time ofcompletion in the instruction to bidders is 90 calendar days from the notice to proceed. Which duration is correct? A2. Project duration is 180 days. See, Instructions to Bidders. Q3. Is there a requirement for one new door on one side at each door opening or two doors (one on each side ofthe opening)? Ifone, which side ofeach opening will the door need to be installed on? A3. Removing 2 doors and installing 1 door at each opening. SEPTA and Contractor will determine what side door will be installed. Q4. The manufacturerofthe doors strongly recommends protection such as bollards be installed to protect the door pocket. 1do not see a requirement for this in the Contract Specifications. Will this be required? A4. SEPTA will install any bollards as needed. Q5. Who is going to be responsible for the masonry repairs to close the holes from the old doors? A5. See section , A. Cutting and patching is Contractor responsibility. Q6. The Callowhill site has an opening that needs a new lintel. Will that be taken care ofby septa's Masons prior to the install? A6. SEPTA will make repairs. Doors will be removed by installers. Q7. Would you be willing to get pricing on a motorized door ifwe ran the power to the opening? A7. Manual operation ofdoors is required in the specification. Motorized is not required. Q8. Will a separate superintendent be required? AS. Qualified installers from door manufacturer is required. Q9. Who is responsible for obtaining any permits that might be necessary? A9. Permits not required, see, Instructions to Bidders.

4 QIO. Does SEPTA have Asbestos and Lead paint reports on the existing fire doors? If not, who is responsible for the Asbestos/Lead report requirement in Summary ofwork - Section Regulatory Requirements and Safety Page 15 - Part 2 -Submittals - C. AlO. System Safety has had doors tested for lead based paint test negative. Doors are wood core / tin wrapped. Qll. Time ofcompletion - Work must be completed in 90 days. This job will take 6 months minimum to complete. The doors will take 12 weeks just to fabricate. All these issues require us to bid through a GC. All. See Answer A2. Q12. Another question came up from the electricians regarding the fire alarm system. Is it the intent ofthis project to connect the new doors to an existing fire alarm system? It does not appear that the existing doors have an alarm system. If so, where does the alarm system connect from? A12. No, doors will not be connected to fire alarm system.

5 Addendum No.? As to the sales tax imposed by the Commonwealth and some municipalities, bidder is directed to the provisions in Pennsylvania law found at 72 P.S et seq. SEPTA makes no representation that these statutes are the only relevant statutes that apply to this Invitation. Bidderacknowledges that nothing in this Invitationconstitutes legal advice by SEPTAthereon. Bidder, to whatever extent that Bidder deems necessary, must obtain its ovm legal advice on any question concerningrelevanttaxes. Bidderis responsible for makingits own investigation to determine whether or not it is subject to municipal. Commonwealth or Federal taxes and for paying for such tax ifapplicable. Bidders are hereby informed that SEPTA is obligated by law to furnish to governmental entities, upon their request, the name and address ofany person or firm with whom SEPTA has a contract for goods and/or services. 6. Time ofcompletion. Completion Date The work must be completed within 180 calendar days from the date ofreceipt by contractor ofsepta's NOTICE TO PROCEED. 7. Bid Security Each complete bid must be accompanied by: (1) BID BOND; (2) CASHIER'S CHECK; (3) CERTIFIED CHECK; (4) TREASURER'S CHECK; and/or (5) OFFICIAL BANKCHECK,in an amount ofnot less than FIVE PERCENT (5%) ofthe Amount Bid, including alternates, if any, and drawn in favor ofthe SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY (hereinafter called "Bid Security"). The Bid Security ofthe three lowest bidders shall be retained by SEPTA for a period ofninety (90) days, or until a contract is awarded and entered into or all bids are rejected, whichever comes first. SEPTA shall be entitled, but shall not have the obligation to cash bidder's Bid Security check and to invest the proceeds and to retain any income generated thereby and bidder, by submission ofits bid, consents to SEPTA's retention ofany income generated by such Bid Security. As used in this provision "Amount Bid" shall mean that amount which is the sum ofthe BASE BID plus all alternates which are bid unless such alternates are mutually exclusive or would result in deducts in which case "Amount Bid" as used herein shall be the highest possible contract price taking into consideration all possible combinations of alternates which might be included in an actual award. The Bid Bond must be issued by a fully qualified surety company acceptable to SEPTA and listed as a company currently authorized under 31 CFR Part 223 as possessinga Certificate of Authority as described thereunder. 8. Discrepancies - Duty ofbidder to Clarify Ambiguities Should a bidder find any discrepancy or ambiguity, or omission from the drawings and/or specifications, or should it be in doubt as to their meaning, the Bidder must at once notify SEPTA who will, ifit determines it to be necessary, send a written addendum for clarification purposes to all bidders. Only written modifications issued as addenda will effect changes in the Bidding and/or Contract Documents. Failure of bidder to clarify ambiguities prior to bid opening constitutes a waiver oftheir right to raise any such ambiguity after bid opening. 9. Addenda The contents ofall addenda to bidders are to be incorporated in the bid and will become part of the Bidding and/or Contract Documents.
