How Holganix Works
Multiple, Unmatched Economic Benefits Holganix creates healthy plants and reduces costs by: Reduced Inputs Holganix allows for more efficient use of nutrients and inputs, requiring up to 75% less. Golf superintendents see savings in the reduction of fungicide and growth regulator applications required on their courses. Less Water Less Mowing Hours When being fed less nutrients, turf will have less surge growth. On average, a full-service maintenance company that transitions to Holganix can save 10%- 50% in mowing hours, which can nearly pay for the Holganix product. In many parts of the country water rates are very high and watering can cost as much as $400/month. Holganix users typically see reductions in water requirements ranging from 10%-30%. Improved Yield In the Agriculture industry, Holganix provides improved yield by increasing weight, count and Brix index. 2

Biology builds and maintains functional soils Organic matter, CEC, water-holding capacity, nutrient availability and recycling Plants and soil life work together: protect and feed each other
Without microorganisms, dead plant and animal life would not decompose. Soils would be putrid. Compaction layers would be created. Many nutrients won t be available to plants
Types of Soil Microorganisms Bacteria Actinomycetes Fungi Algae Protozoa Nematodes
In a functional soil, organisms (including plants) contribute to a mineralization cycle. Mineralization = freeing immobilized nutrients
Microbes are a key part of the nitrogen cycle Requires oxygen John Sawyer and Elwynn Taylor, Department of Agronomy, Iowa State
Microbes also mineralize P, K, S, Fe and other nutrients which may be in the soil but in a form plants can t use.
Almost without exception, bacteria are involved in basic enzyme transformations that make possible the growth of higher plants, including our food crops. From man's point of view, bacteria may well be the most valuable of the life forms in soil. How soil is destroyed.
In a functional soil, certain fungi live in symbiotic (help each other) relationships with plants.
Mycorrhizae are fungi that facilitate water and nutrient uptake by the roots, and plants provide
Protozoa and nematodes Eat bacteria, organic matter, other protozoa and fungi Require less N than bacteria, so release excess SAFS Newsletter Summer 2008, Vol8 No3 The Ohio State University, ANR 36, 2016
Summary Bacteria break down organic matter, minimize nutrient loss (i.e. runoff) and mineralize nutrients. Live in, on and around plants and contribute to overall plant health. Fungi break down organic matter, solubilize key nutrients (P), help the plant obtain water and nutrients, and can protect from pathogens. Larger microbes (protozoa, nematodes) consume smaller microbes, releasing mineralized nutrients in the root zone. All work together to build a functional soil
How Holganix Works
Ectophytic bacteria Holganix contains over 800 species of microbes A complete blend of beneficial bacteria, fungi and protozoa in one product Sourced and sold based on 11 different U.S. climate zones Amendments and nutrients to support microbial growth Endophytic bacteria Amendments: Humic & fulvic Seaweed Yucca Sugars Polysaccharides Proteins Micronutrients Nitrogen-fixing bacteria Algae Plant growth promoting bacteria Mycorrhizal fungi Nematodes Protozoa Nutrient solubilizing bacteria Trichoderma Penicillium Rhizobium
The Holganix Advantage Holganix contains the widest mix of microbes available No customer guesswork as to which microbe is best at what time: competitors must mix several products to even come close to what is in Holganix Competitors focused on single strain, single active ingredient approach but reality is microbes live in interactive biomes, not pure cultures Holganix naturally covers the entire beneficial microbe biome; competitor single strains inherent in Holganix Products tailored to specific geographies, crops and seasons - Base product is aerobically fermented using microbes from plant material only; no animal material or waste - Microbes sourced from 11 different climate zones; product sold represents local biome - Mycorrhizae added specific for intended use i.e. tree & shrub, turf, potato
Holganix delivers in turf and ornamentals reduced fertilizer, better roots Bloom is a Holganix product 19
better weed control and disease suppression 20
Faster establishment 21
Nematode Count Reduction Broken Sound Golf Club Boca Raton, FL Before adding Holganix and carbon to my program, I d rate the course a 5 on a scale from 1-10, now, I d rate the course a 9, states Shannon. It s also saved us about $32,000. Shannon Easter, Director 22
Similar benefits in corn and soy Corn (Illinois crop consultant) Yield parity with 20% less fertilizer 11 bu/a increase at same fertilizer rates All fertilizer rates at the low end of normal Soybean (University of Illinois trial) 50% reduction in cyst nematodes; reduced to levels below economic threshold Yield increase the nematodes are sick 23
Hot peppers in Florida Holganix + 50% less fertilizer More vigor Heavier fruit set With Holganix Without Holganix After growing datil s for fifteen years I have never seen a crop so beautiful and the fruit so large. E. Lambert, FCTC
Processing tomatoes and cucurbits Indiana, Ohio, Michigan Control Holganix Control Holganix Cucumbers (Midwest commercial field); one week earlier harvest and significantly higher yield 4 years of tomato trials in Indiana; 2-4 ton/acre yield increase (~10%) 25
Holganix works by balancing and maintaining all the beneficial microbes needed in a functional soil
