3 Upgrading Information: Repository If you are upgrading from an Insight version prior to v9.0.0, you will need to upgrade to the latest v upgrade build prior to upgrading to this current release. If you are upgrading from any version of Insight, please note that Insight SP2 requires a new license key. You will need to obtain a new License Key from Customer Services. Once this is received, please perform a replace in order to retain your License Assignments. For more information on upgrading, please refer to the v9 upgrade document or contact your Customer Support office. Prior to upgrading, please make sure your Insight Object Repository is backed up (using your current Administration Application). This backup is essential for all types of installs, whether you are installing this version in parallel with an existing previous version or, alternatively, as a new stand alone installation. Any upgrade to SP2 requires a new repository to be created. All previous repositories prior to used Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0. Insight SP2 now requires Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0. Therefore if upgrading from V9.0.x or higher you will need to backup your current production repository and then restore into a new repository created in SP2. This must be done in order to be able to login to the SP2 version. Download Microsoft.NET 4.0 (Full Client): Page 3 of 10

4 Upgrading Information: Budgeting For clients with budgeting repositories, it is required to take a backup of the budgeting library/database/schema prior to upgrading. If you are upgrading from an Insight version prior to , Insight requires a new budgeting database to be created. All previous budgeting databases from V9.0.x and above used Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0. Insight and SP2 now require Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0. For more information on upgrading your budgeting database, please contact your Customer Support office. InsightSoftware.com s Customer Services Department can provide consultancy services and training on all aspects of the Insight application, including installing multiple versions in parallel to help you upgrade between the Insight versions. Suggestions Contribute your thoughts and suggestions about our products and our company. You can also provide comments on other customers ideas and rate comments. Great ideas can be promoted to be future product enhancements! Answers Ask questions to the Insight community and/or provide answers to other customers questions. Particularly helpful questions & answers here can be promoted to the Knowledge tab to be included in Insight Fundamentals. 7 We released our new Third Party Integrations with which have been available as of February However, as a recap for many of our customers, we are providing the information here once again. Insight has partnered with several third party products to provide you with powerful product integration solutions. A listing of each is provided below. 8 Administration Updates In the Profile Wizard the F06904 (MD) Payroll AAI's table is no longer set as Mandatory for JDE World customers. 'F0005 languages Test' in the profile Run Test now passes succesfully when Data Connection and UDC Connection are not on the same database server. Budgeting Updates Additional logic was provided to ensure budgeting scopes based on object account ranges now pick up the entire range correctly. Budget Modelling now works for over 900 columns without any problem. Addressed the likelihood that no error will be received when user clicks on Enter Budget in the Ribbon. Full fix will be done in Insight The same connection for JDE Data and Budget Data Entry can be used successfully now when uploading budgets. Now it's possible to turn off budgeting in the Profile Wizard when the budget database connections are invalid or expired and still to access Insight successfully. Designer Express DX reports upgraded from Winter 2011 SP3 to SP2 open successfully now. No longer receive an error when using calculations with substrings on a DX created report. General Updates A new capability called 'Enable Community Portal' (under Advanced > IS Inquiry settings > Options) has been added to control whether the Community Portal is shown when Insight is opened. This setting can be controlled by user or group. Changes to fixed date calculations now updates calculations based on fixed date properly. Functionality for passing selectors to linked inquiries has been amended. If the Target inquiry contains the Selector, the Selector Value is passed properly. If the Target inquiry does not contain the Selector, the Selector Value is still passed, not the Selector Name. Worksheet Name is now properly saved for the Report Pack and used when exporting to Excel. Page 8 of 10

9 The Time Series values are now properly displaying when using User Defined Filters. Module Updates AR: User can now manually type into the As Of date filters and the date displays properly. AR: No longer receive a timeoute expiration error when running AR As Of Invoices (E1). MD: No longer receive exception on the Payroll AAI template when the Subsidiary description comes from exact BU/exact OBJ. GL: Fixing error in Balances to Transactions template when using Object or Subsidiary Description and they are set to anything other than Model Business Unit/First Subsidiary (For Object) and Model Business Unit/First Object Account (For Subsidiary). GL: Subledger Visual Assist is now returning correct records when searching on a specific Sub Type. HR - Benefit Group filter in Employee Detail Template now has a functional visual assist. HR: No longer receive an exception error when modifying the Aging Categories in the HR Employee Detail Template. INV: You can successfully key in 'NULL' in the Company or Branch Plant filters in the Inventory Module and you are no longer exited out of Insight. Scheduler Updates Insight Scheduler no longer requires.net 2.0. It's sole requirement is.net 4.0 Full Version. No longer receive an error when running a Scheduled Report and using bundled license keys. World Security with Option 4 configured in your Profile now works properly with Scheduler. Insight Scheduler tasks now complete successfully with reports containing hierarchies that have no data for children nodes. Technical Updates Additional functionality was provided for the running of a report in that you can now cancel a report before records are being retrieved from the database. Pre-Req: You must be using the built in provider Data Connection option in the Admin Tool; which is ultized by the majority of our customers. JDE User can successfully log into Insight now when F00921 (JDE User Display Preferences) is populated with country and timestamp information. Page 9 of 10
