2 About 3S SHRAMIK 3S is a unique brand and social enterprise which is a harbinger and pioneer in the field of portable sanitation and liquid waste management. The company manufactures, services/cleans portable and other public restrooms for un-served settlements, slums and similar such applications in India. A pay and use urban inclusive growth model as well as a concept of toilet bank for use at all regions in case of disaster or such are proposed. Also a school sanitation(providing better sanitation in schools)is an area we are currently working on and looking for sustainable solutions. The company was founded by Mr. Rajeev Kher in 1999 and has grown by leaps and bounds since then. He is considered one of 50 Social Entrepreneurs in India who is making a difference to the lives of Indians. We have been recognized for our yeoman efforts to improve the sanitation condition in India be it print, screen, media like CNBC News channel and numerous publications. We recently won SANKALP 2010-India's biggest Social Enterprise Award in the Health, Water & Sanitation.

Also the discipline in maintenance and also the branding and image that we carry are our forte. An economical, hygienic and safe answer to the problem of lack of sanitation is a Portable/Mobile Toilet with cleaning and proper waste management techniques for disposal.it not only solves the problem of health and hygiene but also can provide on the spot sanitation facility without any assistance of external constraints within the system. It generates employment to lower income groups. We are the a unique and premiere company in India working in this space. There is not much competition due to the perceived nature of work. However we have created enterprises through in house talent and also other persons with similar interests. This is on a very small scale but we plan to increase this though our enterprise model.

4 Management The promoters comprise of Rajeev Kher- MBA, Ulka Sadalkar-BE Production, Ranjit Kher- BA Economics, Vineet Rai (Investor Nominee) Rajeev- is a pioneer of the portable sanitation movement in India and the visionary behind the concept, elected now as member of Board of Directors of PSAI( Portable Sanitation Association International Ranjit- an execution and planning expert and manages the expansion and day to day operation Ulka- manages the factory and all related technical and design aspects

5 Situation of sanitation in India Present condition (Background) 1.2 Billion people in India and very little sanitation coverage only a few thousand toilets. The approx ratio is 1:1488 for example in Mumbai and 1:564 in Delhi for you to get an idea. Even today 600 out of 900 million people defecate in the open. The migration from rural to urban India is 15% and a large portion of this is the construction workforce the second largest sector after agriculture which translates to a need of 1 million toilets even if we assume 50 persons per toilet. In urban areas merely 20% of the population has access to water /flush toilets connected to sewage system. A survey by WaterAid (international NGO) has ranked India second on the list of the WORLD S WORST PLACE FOR SANITATION. Diarrhea caused by bad sanitation kills nearly 6,000 children a day an annual toll of million deaths - A child dies every 15 seconds by diarrhea, mainly caused by poor sanitation and water supply. 80% of all the diseases result from combination of poor hygiene, contaminated water and poor sanitation.

6 Portable Sanitation Industry in India In India the market for this is very small and we have been drivers to spread this awareness. We have been successful in spreading our services to about 10 cities all over India and its gaining momentum. Like the porta potty model in the western world we have in addition to a similar concept adapted this as a social enterprise and offer sanitation solutions with a pay and use model and also enterprise models to increase awareness and hygiene in the nation. The solutions are designed for the poor people as well as for events, religious fairs, exhibitions, markets etc which was never an application in India.

7 Benefit/ Impact on society The Portable Sanitation restroom and services are an immediate, economical, hygienic and safe answer to resolve the problem of poor sanitation in India. Not only does it provide prompt sanitation to the un-served but also generates employment to numerous people and is a win-win for all in the value chain. A major solution for reducing diseases that are spread due to poor sanitation and basically giving dignity to women and children who have been neglected all through. Mission: Serving our patrons by providing high quality products and disciplined services by ensuring and assuring our employees and vendors a continuous development and growth by providing superior performance and achieving success with people centric approach. To reach out to people by increasing awareness of hygiene and sanitation to help more than 10 million people a year in 3-5 years through our social enterprise model which includes below poverty line users, slums, unserved settlements, Government agencies, Indian Railways, Indian Army, Tourism dept. of various states, Airports, National Highways, mines, refineries, emerging construction and event industry and above all the people of India living in urban and semi urban India through the inclusive growth plan and such building urban resilience.
