1 Building Maintenance & Property Management Syllabus Outline Building Maintenance & Property Management Program The knowledge-based Building Maintenance & Property Management Course is an accelerated method of learning multiple trades for the increasing number of maintenance and property management jobs involving skills in more than a single trade. With certificates in two individual trade courses and a property management license, the exclusive and broad-based curriculum enables candidates to begin their maintenance career; or in entry-level property management career. Each candidate will learn to oversee the business responsibilities of real estate that is usually owned by another party. These properties may be small homes, large multi-family buildings, or expensive retail complexes. They are responsible for a variety of tasks, including filing taxes, tenant verification and management, rent collection, maintenance, maintenance building systems, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical. Property Managers need to be familiar with the laws and regulations for real estate in their area, and they must have superb customer service, marketing, and communications skills. Three complete courses in one course of study.
