6 Software Subscription Program (continued) Estimating the Payment with Taxes The customer s agreed upon payment as entered into Chrome should include applicable sales tax; therefore, you need to manually estimate taxes for weekly or monthly payments based on federal, state and local taxes in your area. Streamline Enrollment Gather customer information before beginning, such as personal and business address, address, Social Security Number and Date of Birth. If your customer is taking advantage of Direct Debit (payments direct from bank), then have handy the customer s bank name, address, account number and routing number. During the Sale Select RA for Invoice Type (never CS or EC Invoice Type) Connect electronic signature pad BEFORE you start ScanBay Refer to the Subscription Pre-Check Decision Tree Receive notification of contract rejection/denial by phone from Snap-on Credit (SOC) Creating Accounts and Posting Payments Once you have performed the sale you need to create an account in Chrome. Create an Account 1. Open Chrome and double click on the selected customer icon 2. Select SOC Account information tab 3. Select the Add/update box 4. Enter the customer s Debtor Number (Account Number) from SOC in the highlighted box 5. Select OK Set Up Payment 1. Select the Account Number 2. To establish the weekly payment in the account enter amount in Agreed Payment field 3. Select Complete Payment 4. Select OK in the Complete Order Collect 1. Select the Account Number and enter the amount collected 2. If payment is other than cash, complete one of the other fields Complete Payment 1. Select Complete Payment 2. Communication or Software Challenge? Disconnect scanner and wireless module from vehicle and restart the diagnostic suite. 2. Other Communication Issues? Try second Data Cable, OBD-II Adapter, if applicable. Verify the power LED on the Data Cable is illuminated (does not apply to VERUS as it doesn t contain a voltage sensing LED). Verify vehicle has 12 volt and ground at the correct pin locations (pin #4 is ground and pin #16 is 12 volt on standard 16-pin OBD-II style connectors). 3. Coverage Verification? Check the software version on the tool and refer to Vehicle Application Guide to verify coverage support of vehicle and system. 4. Possible Virus? Check for Conficker or other virus on the platform at Snap4help.com/virus page. 5. Wireless Not in Sync? Verify the Bluetooth modules are paired. MODIS, SOLUS, SOLUS PRO 1.
