1 Job Title Department Unit Grade Grade 3 Salary Contract type Reporting to Responsible for Overview of Department Senior Trust Fundraiser Public Engagement Major Partnerships Unit 38,771 per annum Permanent, full time (34.5 hours per week) Philanthropic Partnerships Team Manager Two Trust Officers The Major Partnerships Unit seeks to bring about transformative change by bringing together key players to deliver income, increase influence and impact, and raise the profile of Plan International UK. The unit works across trusts and foundations, major donors, corporates and some institutions, and has seen remarkable growth in recent years from 2 million in 2007 to over 7 million this year. The funds raised by the Unit support Plan International s work with children and their communities to help realise children s rights. We fund a wide range of programmes, including education, health, child protection, child participation, economic security, disaster relief, water and sanitation. The Senior Fundraiser Trusts and Foundations role sits in The Philanthropic Partnerships Team, which is specifically responsible for all trust, foundation and major donor relationships and income. It is a high-growth, exciting and innovative team, having increased annual revenue from 660k in 2005 to over 3m in We foster an open and energising environment, highly conducive to cooperation and collaboration. This role will manage two Trust Officers and will lead the day to day running of Plan s trust programme. We also have a programme team within the Unit, which enables us to offer an enviable range of funding options to partners. This means we can offer strategic, co-funding or bespoke projects to meet donor interests whilst maintaining absolute integrity and impact in our programming. Job Purpose Working closely with the Philanthropic Partnerships Team Manager, you will sustain and increase income from trusts and foundations, and play a key role in the smooth running of the Philanthropic Partnerships Team. You will manage the day to day running of the trust programme alongside managing high level trust relationships, both existing and prospective and maximise donor engagement, satisfaction and value, ensuring a high level of customer service and account management with a view to securing 5 and 6 figure grants from trusts. You will input into the strategic development of the trust programme as requested by the Philanthropic Partnerships Team Manager and manage two Trust Officers, supporting them to reach their income targets.

2 Key Deliverables Key Activities New revenue generation: Ability to secure new gifts from prospects Supervise the trust research (profiling and prospecting) programme Develop innovative ways of approaching and meeting a wide range of prospects including attending networking events to raise Plan International UK s profile Follow through leads and deliver effective presentations and pitches to prospects Update, maintain and regularly review new prospects portfolio, creating stewardship plans and strategies for key prospects Integrate prospecting activities with other Plan engagements and events, to drive opportunities and efficiencies. Portfolio relationship management: Ability to work with existing trusts to steward and upgrade relationships Stakeholder relationship management: Effectively manage a trust portfolio ensuring first class donor recruitment, retention, development and strategy. Work closely with the Projects Team to identify projects that are integrated into Plan International UK s programme strategy, thus prioritising impact. Develop innovative and creative methods to maintain existing donors Manage high level trust relationships. Make direct contributions to meeting annual income targets for the team as well as meeting individual income targets and play an active role in pitches, meetings and presenting proposals. Work with the Trusts Officers and Projects Team on emergency response appeals Build and sustain a range of relationships and networks that will help support and enable introductions to potential trust prospects Represent Plan International UK at events and meetings to broaden and secure our network of donors, supporters and contacts Establish and develop solid partnerships with overseas staff in order to facilitate donor relationships Work with the Projects Team to deliver grant agreement requirements Line management Line manage two Trust Officers, setting objectives, monitoring performance and supporting development Supervise volunteers as and when necessary Other Duties Organise project visits for donors and prospects and, if necessary, accompany them to the field to further develop donor relationships Ensure account management and customer service standards are adhered to Update and maintain contact records, ensuring that all communication and correspondence is logged accurately and is up to date Provide monthly reports and forecasts Keep abreast of key fundraising trends and issues and the regulatory environment around philanthropic partnerships

3 Support the implementation of the CRM system as required Develop knowledge and understanding, and keep abreast of developments within Plan International UK and the development sector in order to communicate and negotiate effectively with stakeholders General Ensure that all activities undertaken on behalf of Plan International UK, externally or internally, are in line with the overall aims of the organisation and with policies and procedures. Participate in training and other activities as requested Awareness and Representation Commitment to Plan s position on promoting girls rights and gender equality, and integrating this into all aspects of work.
