2 Level Gauges YPBR - YUPR - YUPT - YMPT Yakacık Level Gauges YAKACIK VALF Level Gauges have high mechanical endurance for various fluids such as steam and high temperature hot water. Fluid type, pressure and temperature are the main parameters used to choose the suitable level gauge. 3 Yakacık Level Gauges Level Gauges for Steam and High Temp. Hot Water Temperature and pressure affect the fluid properties. While steam chemically affects the glass, condensate mechanically affects it. The environmental and working conditions for steam generating plants and prcess industries such as oil refinery plants, are quite different. Those differences should be taken into consideration to choose the suitable Level Gauge. Proven Safety for Glass Breakage When compared to other pressure vessels, the steam boilers are more frequently started and stopped. So the glass and the gauge is very important for them. The gauge body and the glass must be mechanically strong and resistant to thermal stresses. Transparent glass is placed in between special gaskets. The housing of glass is metal. If glass is broken, it does not spill out in tiny parts. Reflex Gauges: Up to Bars For pressure levels which do not exceed bars, the Reflex Gauges are the most economical solutions for steam boilers. Transparent, Mica Protected Gauges: Up to 0 Bars Transparent Level Gauges can be used up to 0 bars. If the pressure exceeds bars and the temperature exceeds 0 C, the surface of the glass in contact with the fluid, should be protected by mica. Equipping Transparent Level Gauges with an illuminator, enables easy observing. Level Gauges for Process Industries The environmental and working conditions, temperature and pressure should be taken into consideration to choose the suitable Level Gauge used in Process Industries. Temperature Range -9 C + 00 C - Level Gauges which are used in the process industries, are mainly exposed to non-varying conditions: extremely high pressures at low temperatures or low pressures at high temperatures. Applications at Low Temperature At cryogenic conditions, the metallic materials should have enough strength. Properties of the glass do not change very much with low temperatures. Visibility Problem Due to Icing With ice forming on the glass, the visibility deteriorites. For such cases, YAKACIK VALF presents antifreeze blocks. These blocks enable visibility in low temperatures. Level Gauges equipped with such acccessories must be isolated depending on the temperature level. Supplementary Heating Systems If the environment temperature drops to levels at which the fluid solidifies, it becomes impossible to use the Level Gauge. For such circumstances, YAKACIK VALF supplies supplementary heating systems. The medium is thereby maintained in the liquid state and good visibility is ensured.

4 Yakacık Level Gauges YAKACIK VALF Level Gauges enable the observer to monitor the fluid levels from outside. - Reflex Gauges A sealed reflex glass is placed into the gauge body. The fluid level can be seen from one side only. Application for Steam: Saturated steam up to bars. Display is quite clear. Steam zone appears in bright silver color. Liquid zone is dark. Depending on the fluid type, Reflex Gauges are used up to 00 bars and 00 C. Yakacık Reflex Glass Operating Principle of Reflex Glass Operation principle of Reflex Level Gauges is based on refractive index differences of liquids and gases for example water and steam. Reflex glass is assembled into the steel body which covers the steam and the water. Water level can be observed through the split behind the glass. There are prismatic grooves in Yakacık reflex glass. They are in contact with fluid. External light waves are absorbed in the fluid zone and reflected back in vapor zone. As a result, the water zone is seen as black, the vapor zone is seen as bright silver-white. The fluid level can be monitored easily. YAKACIK VALF Reflex Glasses Yakacık Valf reflex glasses are made of borosilicate. They are heat treated and have big resistance to erosion. They are not affected by thermal shocks and static temperature differences. Sealing gasket is provided with level gauge glass. 5 Yakacık Level Gauges - Transparent Gauges Two transparent glasses are mounted in the gauge body. The fluid level can be seen from two sides: front and back. Application for Steam: Saturated steam up to 0 bars. Gauge glasses are protected by mica placed in between the liquid and the glass. Display : An illuminator is necessary. Light creates an elliptic line between the vapor and the water zones. In Other Fluids : Up to 00 bars and 0 C. For colorless fluids like water, illuminator is necessary. For colored fluids, illuminator may not be needed. Display : When an illuminator is used, the liquid level is seen as an ellipse line. For colored liquids, the level is the top of dark liquid column.
