2 Trunnion Ball Valves Our Trunnion Ball Valve is designed for use in gas applications. This full bore, through conduit valve utilizes a 3 piece, forged steel body, trunnion supported ball and spring loaded floating seats to assure positive shut-off with double block and bleed capabilities. The valve can be trimmed to meet most specific customer requirements. Extensions and adaptation for actuation are options regularly requested and provided. The ball is fixed by trunnion and the seat rings are floating, free to move against the ball along the valve centerline. The trunnion support together with bearings absorb the side load created by the pressure acting on the ball. At low pressure, the tight sealing is assured by the preload of the springs acting on the seat rings. Along with the pressure increasing, the process medium pressure pushes the seat rings against the ball to provide additional load for tight sealing.
