Research offers answers; Innovation asks questions about the future Tesol Group is not a conventional industrial company. It is a company dedicated to improving the technological future of the welding industry globally. Our company invests most of its resources in creating technology to respond to the technical problems of productive industries. But Tesol Group also dedicates part of its efforts to researching questions, anticipating what industry is going to need in the future. For this purpose, it develops prototypes automated systems and robotsthat set the trend for technology that is going to be used in the next few years. And to complete the circle, every year our training division prepares thousands of technicians to handle welding equipment.

Technology must be useful and practical for companies Technology must be eminently practical for companies. Tesol installs its equipment in the clients companies and trains the workers. Our company offers an integral technological advance and maintenance service for its equipment in all the sectors where it operates, from assembling a large ship in a shipyard, to the construction of a hydroelectric power station. 6 Faster and safer Tesol s robots and automated systems multiply the productivity of each worker, enabling our clients to be competitive anywhere in the world. The benefits of automated systems are not only visible in the short term; they also reduce work accidents and expenditure on safety to a minimum. One of the latest automated systems designed by Tesol is the Autocompat Tes8, a remote controlled machine with real time vision of the work area on a monitor. This model reduces the space occupied by traditional equipment, eliminating hazards for the worker and carries out uninterrupted welding. Model Tes9 is even more compact, with a control cabinet that enables the entire process to be remote controlled. Tesol technicians are finalising the design of the Tes10, a model adaptable to different equipment with Inverter technology and incorporating a wire feeder. The latest technical breakthrough is a piece of equipment with digital communication to improve automation.

Activities of the Tesol Group by industry sectors (measured in percentage of our business volume) Automotive 31% Naval 29% Wind energy, renewable energy Aeronautics Metal structures/industrial instalations 15% 12% 8% You don t see it, but it is everywhere. Welding is an indispensable technical process for the advancement of industry in the world Welding is one of the elementary actions of any industry, one of the technical processes that all sectors have in common, from construction of an immense wind turbine to an oil rig in the North Sea, an automobile or a luxury cruise liner. Welding technology is everywhere and its innovative progress sets the pace for the development of our society. Petrochemical and Hydrocarbon industry 5%

Business areas and proportions in Group sales: Sales of equipment and different types of materials 44% Own R&D&I 30% Training 12% Technical advice 8% Technical assistance 6% The creation of technology, motor of the Tesol Group s business The data show Tesol s investment in research and the growing demand in companies for automated systems and robots. Today, regarding sales of equipment and materials, one in every three Euros revenue comes from the commercialisation of robots and automated equipment. This is the future; therefore, this is why training specialised personnel is so important for this type of state of the art machinery. As well as their own equipment and the presentation of new prototypes every year, Tesol Group distributes top global welding materials brands: The Esab Group, Bug-o Systems, Lorch, Hypertherm, Starweld, Nederman...

There is always a man behind the machine. Training centre Formavigo s syllabuses are inspired by the real needs of industry. More than 60 percent of its students are active workers. Technology does not replace man; rather it increases man s productivity and competitiveness extraordinarily. Thus, for the last thirty years Tesol has been strengthening its subsidiary Formavigo, dedicated to specialising workers in the different fields of welding and handling automated devices. In addition to its centres in Galicia, our company helps factories all over the world to train workers on-site and guarantee optimum equipment operation and maintenance. Formavigo is the first training centre in Spain and one of the most important in the world in the field of welding automation and robotics not related to mass production. One in every four Formavigo courses is related to state of the art automated equipment. The professional study centre has trained more than 10,000 workers from several countries to date.

Tesol, a group integrating the universe of welding Tesol Group comprises a collection of companies related to welding, from manufacturing equipment to the distribution of special gases. This Spanish firm is directed by Fernando Couñago, a pioneer in practical research into automated welding systems. This is a technology that increases workers productivity and helps companies compete with other countries that have lower labour costs. It s not so important to compete with labour costs says Couñago-, what is vital is to increase the worker s productive capacity and safety. Fernando Couñago president of Tesol Group

This is Tesol Group Tesol. Founded thirty years ago to supply welding equipment to the Spanish naval and industrial sector, from the beginning the company decided to create a research laboratory that was soon to bring out own products for all industrial sectors. Tesol distributes top world brands of welding equipment, safety material and spare parts, in addition to offering technical advice services so that the clients investment in processes is most profitable. Special Welding. This company has specialised in the supply of non-conventional or technically demanding welding, requiring highly specialised personnel or exclusive materials that are not commonly used. Tesol Gases. The Gases subsidiary is in charge of commercialising all types of gases for the welding and cutting industry: compressing, cryogenic, liquefied, etc. Formavigo is the Group s training division. In addition to catering for current company needs, its pupils are trained on usage of the prototypes designed by Tesol, which soon end up in the country s main factories.
