Phylosophies and Objectives The program aims at producing M.S. graduates who : 1. have a high level knowledge and capability in planning, management, solving problems and analyzing research works in environmental management and control, 2. have the necessary background in monitoring control, operation analysis and maintenance of water and solid waste treatment plants or equipment for environmental control and treatment, and 3. have the appropriate skills in evaluating environmental conditions and planning environmental management. 5.Effective Academic Year Effective on 1 st semester in Applicants Qualifications 6.1 Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, or in another field with at least 2 years experience in environmental work or related fields, with letters of recommendation from his/her agencies. 6.2 Applicants must meet the requirement of Thammasat University's Graduate School. 7. Admission Requirement 7.1 Applicants must pass the written and/or the oral examinations. 8. Academic System The academic year is divided into two semesters with courses offered during office hours. 9. Period of study At least four semesters and not exceeding eight semesters. 10. Registration At least six credits and not exceeding twelve credits in every semester, Other detail follow the condition in graduated study of Thammasat University. 11. Academic Performance Evaluation and Graduation 11.1 Grading System: The grading system has been categorized into 9 levels as follows: Grade A A- B+ B B- C+ C D F Grade Point

2 11.2 The accumulation credited are counted only for S and C or higher Level 11.3 Only S (satisfied) or U (unsatisfied) is applied for thesis grading 11.4 P (past) or N (failed) is applied for comprehensive examination and forien language examination and credits are not counted. 12. ES601 Economic and Social Science Environment Scope of study comprises the relationship among social, cultural economic, and environmental aspects, natural resource management and the adaptation of natural ecosystem in community which focuses on economics and sociology. ES602 Technology for Controlling of Environmental Quality The study on technology needed for controlling environmental factors. The relationship between variation factors and environment is to be used to find the risk factors through statistical analysis and mathematical modeling. ES603 Research for Environmental Management 2 credits The study and research on environment for protection, treatment, management and mitigation of environmental problems. ES626 Preparation of Environmental Impact Mitigation Program The study on the preparation of environmental mitigation measures covering a variety of aspects arising from the proposed development. The aim is to minimize the environmental impact in order to satisfy the adapted policy on sustainable development. ES627 Public Relation and Public Hearing on Environmental Aspect The study will focus on the guidelines and formats for public relation and public hearing on environmental issues arising from the proposed development. The aim is to get the public to know and participate in the project planning in a systematic manner. ES707 Advanced Bio-Statistics Scope of study includes descriptive statistics, some important fundamental probability such as binomial extension, Poisant and Normal distribution, Randomization from the limited population sampling, comparative tests between the means from 2 sources, analysis of variance, principle of experiment, analysis of regression and correlation both in linear and multi-degree, analysis of covariance and Chi-square test.
