Bidding Guidelines Under Louisiana Law: In the State of Louisiana, a contractor s license is required prior to bidding on commercial projects of $50,000 or more; electrical, mechanical, or plumbing projects of $10,000 or more; residential projects of more than $75,000; home improvement projects of $7,500 or more (home improvement projects exceeding $75,000 are considered residential projects); mold remediation projects of $1 or more; and hazardous waste removal projects (including asbestos and lead removal and abatement) of $1 or more.
