Aggregate basic information across multiple Spectrum Control servers into a single place, rolling up information was temporally removed in Spectrum Control V5.2.8 and is now available in the web-based GUI for the first time. Compare the workload and performance characteristics of IBM SAN Volume Control and IBM Storwize systems against best practice performance guidelines. Export performance data for storage systems and fabrics using a new Create Performance Support Package wizard. This is helpful in case you observe a performance problem with your IBM storage system, and the IBM support for that device would like to receive the measured performance statistics for further analysis. Understand how the capacity of storage systems is used when storage virtualization is implemented in the environment, by looking at the information about virtualized and non-virtualized capacity. Launch the IBM Spectrum Scale TM GUI from to deliver an even better integration of the two products. In addition to the new functions, this version replaces the per-terabyte licenses with the new per Storage Capacity Units (SCU) method of licensing, which better aligns the value of the management to the cost of the technology that is being managed. 2 Overview This new version of will enable you to get a better understanding about capacity growth for your storage systems, pools, volumes fileset, and file systems by including additional new charts and capacity metrics. A new data source is being introduced in V by enabling one Spectrum Control server to be added as a data source to another Spectrum Control server, creating a single point of control as data from the subordinate server is rolled up to the master server. Best practice guidelines for IBM SAN Volume Controller and IBM Storwize storage systems are shown in a new panel, and display the measured performance against the best practice performance guidelines provided by IBM SAN Volume Controller and IBM Storwize support. In addition to the new functions, this version replaces the per-terabyte licenses with a new method of licensing which better aligns the value of the management to the cost of the technology that is being managed. Description With this new version of, you will be able to better to see the capacity growth for your storage systems, pools, volumes fileset, and file systems. Additional capacity metrics have been introduced to gain a deeper understanding of capacity usage over time. With drill-through actions, it's easier to get from one level to another, for example from volumes to pool and storage systems. New general groups have been introduced that are similar to the Storage Resource Groups that were available until Spectrum Control in the standalone GUI, and they are also available for custom reports. A new data source is being introduced in V5.2.10, enabling one Spectrum Control server to be added as a data source to another Spectrum Control server. In such a configuration, data collected on the subordinate server is being rolled up to the master server, creating a single point of control. For example, from that single point of control, you will be able to see all the storage devices managed by all Spectrum Control servers, and easily drill down from the master server to a subordinate server in order to view more information collected by the subordinate server. For IBM SAN Volume Controller and IBM Storwize storage systems, a new panel was created showing the measured performance against the IBM best practice performance guidelines.
