4 Oman Information Technology Industry - Incentives Incentives for Information Technology The government of Oman offers comprehensive incentives for the investors to start the business in Information Technology industry, they are as follows - Non-U.S. investors can obtain approval by the Council of Ministers for a 100 % foreign-owned business entity if the investment is in the national interest. Soft loans against an interest of 3% for investment projects amounting to $651.21thousand or less. Full exemption from customs duties on goods imported into the free zone. Exemption from income tax for a 5 year period, which can be renewed for another period of 5 years; Investors are provided with incentives such as tax and import concessions and duty-free access to GCC states. It is the only country in the Arab Gulf region to offer export credit insurance.
