3 The New Page In PU Foam Age The non-uniformity of structure, fast destruction and darkening due to exposure to sun light causing a yellow color, are all factors associated with existing PU foams. It is time to start with a clean slate. With WhiteTeq Technology, Ceresit opens up a new page in the history of PU foam. 4 New Technology New Properties 1. New Superior Fine-Cell Structure No plasticizers 4 times more cells per cm 3 Structure means order and uniformity. The structure of regular PU foams typically contains random combination of large voids and pores, depending on the quality level and working conditions. These large voids quickly conduct thermal energy and strongly contribute to a loss of heat. The Ice-White Color As A New Indicator Of Quality Increased ingredients purification rate Regular PU foams are based on technical grade ingredients, which create a typically seen light yellowish color. The color of the Ceresit WhiteTeq has an entirely different reason. The icewhite color of the new Ceresit WhiteTeq is derived from its particular polymer purification process which takes out any impurities. Thus achieving its color without the need of any colorants. Ceresit challenged itself to create a way to control one of the most important factors the temperature of the foam in the can. This factor has big influence on the foam s quality and usability. So far no effective tools for controlling a can s temperature were available. Ceresit presents the new and advanced packaging featuring the WhiteTeq Temperature Indicator. It demonstrates that the can content has reached the optimal temperature range for excellent foaming results or alerts if the can temperature exceeds it s minimum temperature with a blue snowflake appearing. 9 25% Movement Flexibility Existing PU foams may not be forgiving when it comes to repeated mechanical stresses, such as the constant opening and closing of windows, doors, and thermal pressures coming from frequent changes in temperature. This may result in cracks in the foam structure, which jeopardizes its insulation properties. The major reason for this is a lack of elasticity. In order to resist mechanical stress and keep its full insulation capacities in the long-run, Ceresit WhiteTeq Thermal & Sound Insulation was developed with an improved elasticity coefficient to reach more than 25% movement flexibility. This ensures the stability of sound and heat insulation qualities, as well as resistance to repeated mechanical and thermal impacts. The main reason is the deformation of their frames, which is caused by the high curing pressure, that PU foams generate during the hardening process. This effect is impossible to foresee. With Ceresit WhiteTeq Thermal & Sound Insulation, deformation is no longer a threat. It s hardening pressure is up to 5 times lower than that of any conventional PU foams, which reduces the risk of damage to adjacent objects (window frames, door jambs, etc.) to an absolute minimum. 10 Five Steps To Ensure Excellent Results 1 Substrates must be stable, clean and free of substances likely to impair adhesion. The surfaces can be moist, but not frosted or iced. Mask adjacent areas with foil. 2 Applicable environment temperature of this product lasts from 5 C to + 35 C. 3 Warm can up Ready to use Keeping the can temperature between + 5 C and + 30 C is a must. Check the can temperature by using WhiteTeq Temperature Indicator on the front of the can. If a blue snowflake appears, the can and its content exceed their minimum temperature and must be warmed up in a warm room or in warm water. Afterwards shake the can for approximately 15 seconds and check the indicator again after 2 minutes. If the WhiteTeq Temperature Indicator remains blue, further warming up is needed. If the blue snowflake disappears, the Ceresit WhiteTeq Thermal & Sound Insulation foam is ready for use. For best results keep the can at room temperature during application. 4 5 Shake the can up and down vigorously about 20 times. Remove the plastic cap from the can and screw the adapter tightly onto the screw head of the valve. When working always make sure to keep the can upside down.
