2 Integration Data Integration Through FDM Orace Hyperion Financia Data Quaity Management, Fusion Edition (FDM) is an out-of-thebox data transformation too that feeds source-eve financia data to consoidation, reporting, panning, and anaytica appications. It provides an audit trai to the source financia data, heping to ensure data integrity and mapping consistency that aows for easy reconciiation of financia data. Orace Hyperion Strategic Finance, Fusion Edition utiizes FDM as a source for importing data so you can create Strategic Finance financia modes based on any data source open to FDM, incuding: ERP systems Fat fies Reationa database systems Microsoft Exce FDM provides a singe, systematic process for oading source data from disparate systems into target anaytica appications. 3 FDM Dri-Back Anaysis In a Strategic Finance cient, you can right-cick on a ce containing data imported through FDM and use the Audit Intersection option to find the data source. Ces with data imported through FDM are marked with a magenta tick mark in the ower-right corner. Audit Intersection aunches a web browser accessing FDM, where you can find detais about the data oad, data mapping, and dri into the source. FDM Settings in Strategic Finance Administrator To enabe Orace Hyperion Financia Data Quaity Management, Fusion Edition integration on the Strategic Finance server, the Administrator utiity now has the FDM Settings diaog box. Link Indicators Links are now represented by a tick mark in the ower-right corner of a inked ce. The tick mark wi be different coors, depending on the source: Hot Link: Bue Mode Link: Green Goba Assumption: Red FDM Import: Magenta Exce Import: Back New Modeing Features Monte Caro Simuations with Crysta Ba Crysta Ba is a suite of Microsoft Exce-based appications that harnesses and extends the anaytica power of spreadsheets. With Crysta Ba, you can run Monte Caro simuations on Strategic Finance financia modes. Monte Caro simuations appy statistica samping techniques to your data, appying random numbers within a defined eve of toerance to simuate unknown business risks. 4 In Exce, you access the HSF-Crysta Ba pug-in by seecting Run/Toos > Strategic Finance Setup to start a wizard, which waks you through seecting a Strategic Finance entity and seecting accounts for randomizing: When the wizard competes, Crysta Ba oads the Strategic Finance data into a worksheet, where you perform Monte Caro simuations: The resuts are stored, avaiabe for use in Crysta Ba reporting toos and can be referenced through the Strategic Finance cient. Where Used Where Used is a forward audit trai used to hep you understand the potentia effects of forecast changes in your entire mode. It identifies the accounts that depend on a given account for cacuation. You seect accounts and cacuate a scenarios, and Where Used tracks which other accounts use the seected accounts. Ce Text You use Ce Text to create notes on ces or accounts. Ce Text notes are specific to a seected ce/scenario or account/scenario combination. Notes are indicated by red tick marks in the upper-right corner of ces. There is an option to dispay Ce Text in reports. New Features Guide 5

6 Change to Scenario Manager The foowing change is new for Scenario Manager. Sorting Scenarios The Scenario Manager Sort tab enabes you to change the order in which scenarios are isted in the Scenarios drop-down ist of the Accounts tab. 7 Adding Mutipe Years The Add Time Structure diaog box now aows you to seect mutipe years in the Required Years box. Changes to Assumptions Change Manager This enhancement has been made to Assumptions Change Manager. Support for Ce Text The Change Account Attributes diaog box now has the options for copying Ce Text between entities. New Features Guide 7

8 Support for Scaar Vaues Assumption Change Manager now supports the copying of scaar vaues, which are goba vaues in a mode. Ease-of-Use Enhancements Background Entity Check In When you check an entity in to the server, the process is now performed in the background. This enabes you to continue work on other financia modes whie entities are cosing. The Strategic Finance server now performs a check-in processing in the background. Because this is now a background process, the Cacuation process bar no onger appears, but a cacuations are sti performed, and a diaog appears to confirm cacuation when check-in is compete. Consoidation Changes The foowing enhancements have been made to Consoidation. 8 New Features Guide

9 Run Mutipe Scenario Consoidations For consoidations with mutipe scenarios, you can now use the Run Mutipe option to access the Consoidation Scenarios diaog box and simutaneousy run consoidator for mutipe target scenarios. After a scenario consoidations are finished, a singe diaog box appears to report competion. Report Properties You can now doube-cick on a reports tab as a shortcut to the Report Properties diaog box. Separators in Account Group Lists When creating account groups, the Type of New Group diaog box now has the Separator option, which creates a ine to distinguish between groups in a ist. 10 Administrator Enhancements These features are new in the Administrator utiity. Automatic Export to Essbase and Panning For impementations using Strategic Finance export to Orace Essbase or Orace Hyperion Panning, Fusion Edition, there is now an option for automaticay exporting data whenever an entity is checked in to the Strategic Finance server. In order to use automatic export to Orace Essbase and Orace Hyperion Panning, Fusion Edition, you must first have a batches and maps set up for export. Automatic Purge of Entity Archives Automatic purge of entity archives enabes an administrator to configure thestrategic Finance server to purge oder archives stored on the server.
