2 The one-stop-shop solution The one-stop-shop solution ENER-G Natural Power delivers turnkey projects that produce sustainable energy by exploiting landfill, mines and digester gases worldwide. Methane gas produced by the degradation process of waste within landfill sites, which is also found in coal mines, is a potentially harmful greenhouse gas, 21 times more damaging than CO 2 when released into the atmosphere. However, this methane gas is a valuable fuel that can be used to generate renewable energy. Through in-depth knowledge and broad experience in the biogas market, specialist engineers at ENER-G have long realised this and developed commercially viable techniques to optimise the use of these methane-rich gases. ENER-G applies a flexible approach to meet clients requirements. Our clients have only one point of contact throughout the lifetime of the project with our Build Own and Operate (BOO) solution. In addition to BOO solutions ENER-G also offers clients the opportunity to purchase the engine units or alternatively to rent them on short to medium terms, enabling clients to retain some flexibility. Our one-stop-shop solution includes the following services: Feasibility and desktop study Design and planning Permitting and legal agreement Project development Supply and installation of all equipment Long term operation and maintenance Fully financed solution With over two decades of experience and a worldwide client base, ENER-G has a proven track record of delivering methane gas utilisation projects on an international scale. Currently we have operational projects in the United Kingdom (UK), Poland, Hungary and Spain, with further projects under development in South Africa, Mexico, Hungary, Lithuania and Romania emphasising our commitment to providing sustainable energy solutions on a global basis. Our expertise in numbers: over 100 projects developed and operated over 150MW of installed capacity approximately 4 million tonnes of CO 2 destroyed each year. Agreement with the network operator for sale of electricity and any green certificates Brokerage of the green certificates Attractive royalties 2

3 Working with ENER-G Guarantee to Install Capacity philosophy ENER-G s unique guarantee to install maximum capacity means that if the gas quantity and quality is sufficient for increased generation, extra units will be installed, even for a short period. This helps maximise our clients generation potential and income in the form of royalty as a percentage of the total income from the sale of energy. The technology At ENER-G we build the generators in our modern manufacturing facilities in Manchester, UK, ensuring short delivery times and high quality. All systems are designed, developed and constructed by our specialist engineers, specifically in accordance with the client s requirements. Using cutting-edge technology our generation packages incorporate several features that make them unique, enabling maximised gas utilisation. Generator packages include 165, 375, 500, 1136 and 2000kW. The conventional approach Load tests are performed at the manufacturing facility on natural gas, which ultimately reduces the commissioning period. All units are fully installed and commissioned by qualified ENER-G engineers and witnessed by the grid operator. The gas collection, pumping and flaring system are designed and manufactured in-house and our flaring equipment is provided and installed by our sister company, Biogas Technology Limited. Working with ENER-G delivers the following benefits: Environmental benefits Reduced greenhouse gas emissions Low engine emissions for NOx Working with ENER-G The ENER-G approach Gas Yield - Low Gas Yield - High 375kW 1136kW and CO 2 Reliable and best practice migration control Fully environmentally bunded engine compartment and control room Acoustically clad containerised packages, typically reduce sound levels to 68dBa at 10m Our 3 in 1 oil tanks solution provides state-of-the-art spillage control measures Financial benefits Fully financed project Attractive royalties from the sale of power Revenue derived from the sale of Carbon Credits is shared with the client in most cases. Through selling power of our growing portfolio we achieve the best value for the renewable energy Ongoing gas collection system installation financed by ENER-G Substantially reduced aftercare costs Operational benefits Fully modular, easily portable systems Easily extendable capacity Extended period of gas utilisation Remote monitoring system Local Service team used for continued support 3

4 Fields of application Fields of application ENER-G has developed innovative and environmentally friendly utilisation solutions for: landfill gas coal bed and coal mine methane Gas management ENER-G has designed and developed an optimised gas management system for the best utilisation of the available gas. Principal features include: digester gas associated gases. Landfill gas ENER-G s unique approach to the exploitation and utilisation of landfill gas maximises the use of the gas resource, whilst reducing any negative environmental effect. We achieve this by managing the projects from conception through to commissioning and thereafter through the operation and maintenance phase. Our philosophy includes the following: in-house design work of the gas collection system simple, low cost wells, adjusted remotely at the manifold, enabling fast and frequent monitoring and optimised controlled of the gas field no wellhead chambers means minimum impact on the operator s access post-closure and on the overall capping systems integrity frequent monitoring and quick response to potential problems give confidence that migration issues are being properly addressed on-site gas management and not just at the engines, promotes active migration control. installation of the collection wells and pipework installation of gas booster and flare design and construction of the generation compound and commissioning of the generators regular monitoring and optimised balancing of the gas field at the manifold points. The gas is the fuel for our reciprocating engines and is used to generate renewable power. The electricity produced qualifies for various government incentives around the world and ENER-G also negotiate the sale of the electricity through Power Purchase Agreements. 4

5 Fields of application Coal Mine Methane (CMM) and Coal Bed Methane (CBM) ENER-G s extensive experience with landfill gas utilisation also allows us to offer a one-stop-shop solution for mines gas applications. Mines gas comes in two primary forms, Coal Mine Methane (CMM) which is found in mine workings and Coal Bed Methane (CBM) which is potentially found by directional drilling into un-worked coal seams. Currently much of the world s CMM, which can be found in both closed and operational deep mines, is passively vented to the atmosphere, therefore converting this gas to energy is highly beneficial. ENER-G has significant experience in the design, permitting, developing and operation of CMM projects. Our first project was commissioned in ENER-G sells the power produced, but this usually does not attract any feed-in tariff such as Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs). In 2009, ENER-G, in partnership with a specialist CBM developer, commissioned the UK s first CBM project. Digester gas ENER-G designs, installs and operates biogas combined heat and power (CHP) systems for a variety of digestion plants, for the utilisation of the methane produced by the plant. The heat produced can be utilised locally while the electricity is sold to the local grid, recovering the Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs). Associated gases Wellhead gas Wellhead gas is a by-product from oil and gas field operations, which can be used as a fuel in our generator packages. This solution not only generates revenue from the sale of the electricity, but helps the site meet their environmental standards. Stranded gas Stranded gas is natural gas that is uneconomic to distribute due to its low energy content, or the limited volume that wouldn t warrant a pipeline connection to the gas national infrastructure. Using ENER-G s technology this fuel source can be utilised to generate renewable energy. Flare gas With the onset of the Greenhouse Gas Flaring Reduction (GGFR) initiative, ENER-G has placed itself strategically alongside the oil and gas industry to assist in the global issue of reducing emissions from standby flaring operations. 5
