NBY is the operational company of the Yawuru Native Title Holders Aboriginal Corporation. NBY manages the day to day business of Yawuru and is engaged in a diverse range of projects which help to provide social, cultural, environmental and financial sustainability for the future of Yawuru people. PRIMARY FUNCTION In accordance with Yawuru s Corporate Strategy the Manager Finance & Corporate Services is responsible for managing the development, implementation and maintenance of financial systems and assets required to support NBY s long-term financial security and growth. Please see the attached Position Description at the end of this pack for detailed key responsibilities and outcomes of this position. ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA 1. Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or related field 2. Considerable experience in end-to-end financial management in a similar sized organisation including: preparing general purpose, special purpose and ad-hoc financial reports for statutory, regulatory, contractual and taxation requirements (e.g. PAYG, BAS, FBT and income tax return) group reporting and consolidation of parent and other controlled entities analysing data for detailed measurement of performance, financial position, cash flows and key business metrics for decision-making purposes preparation of budgets, forecasts, projections, variance reporting and dash board summaries manage costing and billing of jobs, treasury operations, liquidity position, assets, liabilities and other general ledger balances manage annual audits, quarterly Board reporting, month-end reconciliations, fortnightly cash disbursements, weekly budget reviews and day-to-day finance and accounting functions management of payroll, salary packaging, fringe benefits and other employee benefits ensuring effective internal controls over operations and financial reporting 3. Experience leading, designing and implementing successful investment and/or commercial growth strategies 4. Demonstrated experience developing and improving financial systems to improve quality and efficiency 5. Advanced interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage, influence, negotiate, and facilitate

3 LOCATION Our office is located in Broome in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Known for its pearling history and tourism, Broome is a culturally diverse town, with a tropical climate and stunningly beautiful surrounds. The permanent population is estimated at 15,857, growing to over 45,000 during the tourist season (May October). PRIMARY FUNCTION The Manager Finance & Corporate Services is responsible for managing the development, implementation and maintenance of systems and infrastructure required to support day to day operations as well as NBY s growth and financial security. This position also leads the management team in developing and complying with financial accountability processes and policies. LINE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES Management Accountant o Accounts Officer o Accounts Assistant IT&C Systems Administrator Receptionist COMMUNICATIONS AND ENGAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES NBY Board CEO & COO NBY Management team Internal NBY colleagues Yawuru community stakeholders Other NBY stakeholders, as required KEY ACTIVITIES AND TASKS LEADERSHIP Contribute to strategic and operational planning as a member of the management team Effectively communicate the organisation s strategic direction and team expectations Provide coaching and mentoring to staff within the organisation Provide strategic advice to the CEO, COO and the NBY Board on all aspects of corporate services Anticipate future challenges likely to impact the delivery of corporate services and develop strategies which contribute to achieving NBY s goals Develop, review, and implement strategies and systems for Corporate Services which are aligned with NBY s strategic plan Lead the continuous improvement of NBY s corporate services systems and activities Develop accurate and timely reporting to the executive management team and the Board Engage with stakeholders to identify new initiatives and implement change Build and sustain an organisational culture in alignment with NBY s values Operate in a collegiate way across the organisation in order to share and leverage expertise

5 FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Oversee the organisation s end-to-end financial systems and functions Oversee all statutory and management financial reporting Ensure development and management of annual capital and operational budgets across the organisation Analyse all sources of financial information to assess the organisation s current and future financial viability and provide appropriate recommendations for improvement Ensure appropriate financial expertise and input into preparation and evaluation of proposals and business cases for investment and resource allocation decisions CORPORATE SERVICES MANAGEMENT Ensure consistent and effective finance, ICT and administrative systems and policies are developed, implemented and reviewed across the organisation in alignment with NBY s strategic plan and best practice corporate governance Ensure consistent, effective, efficient record management systems are developed, implemented and reviewed across the organisation In consultation with the COO and other NBY managers, develop, maintain and continually improve policies and procedures relating to; procurement, care, maintenance and management of NBY s office, work spaces, vehicles, and office equipment and supplies Manage, monitor and report on the performance of corporate service activities and initiatives Manage, mentor and supervise direct reports Develop mutually beneficial partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, to achieve optimal outcomes Ensure compliance across the business in relation to relevant policies and procedures Develop appropriate reporting processes and procedures to effectively track and monitor the status of Corporate Service activities In consultation with the Board and Executive, develop responsible risk-return strategies and policies to guide and optimise returns on investment and commercial activities Ensure development and maintenance of risk-based internal audit and quality systems to ensure the integrity of financial processes and compliance with relevant contractual, regulatory and legislative requirements Lead programs to mitigate financial risks, in alignment with NBY risk management framework Develop and maintain systems to collect and manage records in line with NBY s records management framework, privacy policies and relevant legislation INDIVIDUAL COMMITMENT Actively embrace and integrate NBY s vision, mission and values into the role, and model appropriate behaviours Work collaboratively with management and staff across the business in support of NBY s strategic objectives Maintain a professional approach in the workplace Conform to NBY s conditions of employment, code of conduct, and organisational policies and procedures Adhere to relevant legislative requirements including and not limited to the Fair Work Act, Workplace Health and Safety Act and the EEO Act Continuously identify opportunities for improvement. Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance or related field 2. Considerable experience in end-to-end financial management in a similar sized organisation 3. Substantial experience in management and business administration 4. Experience leading, designing and implementing successful investment and/or commercial growth strategies 5. Demonstrated experience developing and improving office systems to improve quality and efficiency 6. Advanced interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage, influence, negotiate, and facilitate 7. Leadership ability to translate Nyamba Buru Yawuru s corporate vision into strategic initiatives and outcomes 8.
