2 WHAT IS EPERFORMANCE? eperformance is available all year round to track your goals, continuous learning experiences and general performance via the My Performance section. In addition, managers and employees are asked to fill out forms, i.e., Goal Setting, Annual Performance Evaluation, Performance Updates and Conflict of Interest. HOW DO I LOG IN TO EPERFORMANCE? eperformance is accessible via the HR Portlet on the Babson Portal. USE YOUR BABSON USERNAME AND PASSWORD. If you are a relatively new employee and it does not recognize your username and password, please contact hr@babson.edu to ensure your account has been created. WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR THE PERFORMANCE UPDATE? During each calendar year, managers are asked to complete three forms in eperformance for each employee: 1) goals, 2) a performance update, and 3) an annual performance evaluation. Given the varying nature of work across the College, managers have the flexibility to choose the appropriate time of year to complete each item. In an effort to be flexible to different individual and management styles, we do not require that the form be completed first and the conversation take place second. It is up to the manager and employee to decide what works best for them, and to communicate it accordingly. The Performance Update requires managers to: Write a quality performance review, Discuss it with their employee in person, and

3 Send it to the employee via the eperformance system for agreement, comments if desired, and sign-off. HOW DO MANAGERS FILL OUT THE PERFORMANCE UPDATE FORM? Each manager will receive an from Human Resources that includes a link to the eperformance system. The homepage includes a list of all tasks. ACTIVE TASKS ARE EITHER OR. Managers then select the Edit Evaluation button for whichever employee evaluation they d like to work on next. The SUMMARY OF OVERALL PERFORMANCE AND GOALS PROGRESSION is first. 1) The manager will write a few brief paragraphs SUMMARIZING EMPLOYEE PROGRESS ON THEIR GOALS AND GENERAL BEHAVIOR since the last evaluation. 2) The manager will indicate RECENT CONTINUOUS LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES in which the employee participated including books/articles read, webinars/conferences/workshops attended, mentor relationships, etc. 3) Managers will identify, as needed, specific deficiencies or development needs, whether skill-based or behavioral 4) When finished, the EVALUATION CAN BE SENT AUTOMATICALLY TO THE EMPLOYEE BY CLICKING

If however, the manager would like to discuss the review prior to the employee seeing it, and would like the ability to still edit, click DO MANAGERS & EMPLOYEES DISCUSS THE REVIEW IN PERSON? We strongly encourage supervisors to meet with their employees in person to discuss their reviews. Managers have the flexibility to share the review form before or after the in person meeting. WHAT DOES THE EMPLOYEE DO AS PART OF THE ANNUAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION? Employees are asked to 1) AGREE OR DISAGREE with the evaluation and 2) ADD COMMENTS, if they d like to. 3) At any point while completing the form, employees can at the top right or 4) click the button at the top right, at which point the form will be permanently filed under their Past Evaluations section of eperformance. If an employee disagrees with their evaluation, HR will be notified and they will contact the manager to help facilitate a conversation.

5 CAN I STILL MAKE EDITS IF I ALREADY SAVED AS COMPLETE? The rollback process maintains all the data you have already entered, but gives you an opportunity to make additional edits.
