Display Developments Specialist Fabricators and Formers of Thermoplastics Display Solutions

Introduction Display Developments began in Since inception we have always strived to lead the field in providing first class service and consistently adding new and better products. We were one of the first fabricators of rigid thermoplastics in South East England. Today our production facilities are geared towards clients requirements for either tailor-made products, designed and produced to their own specification or standard products from our extensive TRIM range Because of the flexibility we offer in both service and product range, our customers come from a vast assortment of industries and backgrounds. This includes everything from a small family owned business with small production requirements, to the largest pharmaceuticals requiring mass production on the largest scale. This often means that we may be producing a highly technical engineering component at the same time as an eye-catching brochure display unit. Display Developments is continually investing in state-of-the-art machinery, manpower and factory capacity. We have recently moved to a new purpose built factory to increase capacity and ensure customer service and satisfaction is maintained. This investment in conjunction with both new and traditional fabrication techniques and the skills of our workforce, ensures we continue to build on our reputation for top quality products at competitive prices, with the highest possible commitment to customer service. From our earliest foundations to present day, this has been the key to our success. If you would like to know more about our services and products, please take a look our web site. If you would like to talk to us about your requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us. 2

Display Developments is continually investing in state-of-the-art machinery, manpower and factory capacity. Development and Prototyping Perhaps the most crucial phase in manufacturing any successful product is the initial design and development, which starts the process to ensure the end product meets its final objectives. As dedicated manufacturers, Display Developments encourage clients to involve us at the earliest possible stage in their product development. In becoming part of the design team, we can pool our knowledge of plastics with our clients experience of their own market place, forming a partnership which will provide solutions to even the most demanding of design problems. At this stage of a project, a prototype can be produced by our team of skilled fabricators, which allows clients to see the product in its fully functional state, prior to commencing the final production run. Any final changes in design can then be accommodated to ensure the end product meets your every expectation. There may be occasions when you simply require a one-off product. This is very much part of our business and is a service that goes a long way to ensuring complete customer satisfaction. To discuss your requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us. Tel:

Machining and Trimming Display Developments has invested heavily in its machining facilities. We have the in-house capability CNC Routing and drilling, cutting 6 metre sheets, turning and milling. With the introduction of two 3000 x 1550mm multi-tool changing CNC routers, capacity and flexibility have been substantially enhanced, enabling us to meet our varied customers needs whilst maintaining a competitive edge. Fully automated, our routing systems work direct from CAD generated drawings, ensuring precise transfer of data straight from design to finished product. Our experienced personnel and jig design capabilities ensure that all items are manufactured to consistently high standards and exacting tolerances. The coupling of our in-house two and three dimensional forming with our flexible approach to jigging and trimming, is a key factor in differentiating Display Developments from the competition. Tel:

Forming By the very nature of thermoplastics, the possibilities available in transforming a basic, flat panel into a multi-dimensional item are almost endless. The application of heat allows the sheet to be converted into complex shapes and components. Forming capabilities include: Vacuum forming (up to 2.5 x 1.83m or 3.1 x 1.63m) Local Line Bending Pressure Assist Forming (High-Definition) Blow Moulding Drape Moulding Press Forming Vacuum Forming When The James Lierman Forming Company was incorporated into the Display Developments Group, an additional 25 years of expertise was acquired and further supplemented our already extensive experience in thermoforming. This coupled with our comprehensive tool making capabilities and skilled personnel means we can offer a complete package manufactured to ISO 9001:2000 standards. With vacuum forming machinery capable of processing sheets up to 2.5 x 1.83m or 3.1 x 1.63m, physically large format mouldings and high volume production vacuum forming have become our speciality. With six different size machines to choose from, we are suitably equipped to satisfy all generalpurpose vacuum-forming requirements. We are also highly experienced in Pressure Assist Vacuum Forming. This niche process is relevant when the application requires the high definition of injection moulding but where the quantities do not support the high tooling costs normally associated with it. 6

Fabrication and assembly Gluing Assembly is critical to the manufacturing process and often includes cementing or bonding (or in the case of engineering plastics, hot air welding). Our own ongoing research programme into cements, adhesives and how best to apply them, ensures that we are continually leading the way in this field. UV Curing Driven by our clients wishes for the clinical looking clear joint where glue overspill and bubbling are nondesirables, we have invested substantially into specialist UV Curing Technology to help pursue this goal. This has helped maintain Display Developments position at the forefront of plastic fabrication in the UK. Assembly Display Developments offer a one stop shop approach to display fabrication and forming. We assemble many metal and wooden components into both our TRIM display range and bespoke projects. These items may include, but are not limited to: MDF Plinths and bases Wheels and castors Locks Hinges Runners etc. In addition to this, we are able to produce complex display items in flat pack form to ensure safe and cost effective shipping of product for on site assembly. Using Tappex technology, we are able to mechanically fix items without using adhesives and cements. Tel:

Decoration and finishing In today s competitive marketplace, visual presentation and impact has become increasingly important in establishing and promoting products. With the arrival of digital print technology and networking facilities, high quality reproductions from one-offs to high volume are now effortlessly attainable and at affordable prices. Depending on budget and desired effect, our experienced sales team can expertly advise on the best route to take for your product. A vast array of processes are available to decorate or brand items, most of which are provided by Display Developments. Digital Printing Silk Screen Printing - Line and half tone - Four colour process Vinyl graphics Engraving Vacuum metallising Spray painting Laser etching Polishing To meet the requirements of our clients and to give a high quality finish to end products, the majority of items made by Display Developments go through a polishing process. This is traditionally carried out by means of power buffing or flame polishing. However, we are one of the few companies in the UK who are also able to offer state-of-the-art semi-automatic diamond polishing on machines we helped to develop. Polishing methods include: Diamond Edge polishing - High gloss - Matt finish Buff polishing Flame polishing 8
