Standard Features and Construction / Acrylic Bases Lucite cross-linked cast acrylic construction, strengthened by a substantial multi-layered backing to prevent flexing of the floor pan. At least 30% thicker and stronger than other makes. Surface is extremely scratch- and stain-resistant. Non-porous surface makes cleaning and sanitizing faster and more effective. Available in a wide variety of colors. Single and multiple-threshold models available, some with hidden drain (designated by HD ). Tile flange(s) included to facilitate installation. Pre-leveled (optional foam base may be ordered to eliminate the need for bedding compound). Textured bottom meets ASTM F for slip-resistance. The most recently added models feature multiple thresholds for flexible installation and a very low profile of approximately 3 for easier shower entrance and exit. Additionally, the low profile permits recessing the base in the floor so that, when combined with a teak shower tray, a zero-barrier entrance is created. Standard Features and Construction / Engineered Solid-Surface Bases Constructed of Engineered Solid-Surface ( ESS ) composite material, which is a mixture of ground natural minerals and high-performance resins that are liquefied, poured and then hardened. This molded stone is solid through-and-through. Non-porous surface is stain-resistant, mold and mildew-resistant. Available in white or biscuit, matte finish. All are multiple-threshold design with hidden drain (designated by HD ). Tile flange(s) included to facilitate installation. Pre-leveled and include foam base, eliminating the need for bedding compound. Quality tested and certified by the NAHB. Standard Features and Construction / Nordic Series Enclosures Frameless design for clean appearance. 10 mm-thick clear tempered safety glass (curved glass is 6 mm). Hinges and handles are made of solid cast brass. Available in chrome and brushed nickel; some models in polished nickel and oil rubbed bronze. Hinges attach through the glass for long-term proper alignment. For easy installation, wall jambs allow for +/- 3/4 adjustment in the width for both sides to compensate for variances due to tile thickness or walls that are out of plumb. Standard Features and Construction / Genuine Teak Accessories Genuine teak has the natural ability to ward off fungi, mold and mildew. Emits a slight teak aroma while showering. Helps contribute toward creating a spa-like environment. Variety of teak shower seats and trays available. Genuine teak shower seats can be installed inside or outside the shower and fold up when not in use. Teak shower tray is comfortable under foot. Slats let water and soap run through.
