Work Health Safety & Environmental Management All staff support the development and continuation of a safety culture at HWC, fulfilling requirements of the Work Health & Safety Act 2011 (NSW). Role of the Group The work of the Office of the Managing Director at Hunter Water is responsible for the management and leadership of Hunter Water. These functions are delivered through the six Divisions and one Group within the organisation. Customer Strategy & Retail Finance ICT Services Service Delivery for Customers Investment & Innovation The work of the People & Culture Team underpins and enhances the Corporation s ability to deliver on its mission and values through HR, ER, L&D and Organisational Development strategies, systems and processes. The team is responsible for developing Hunter Water s strategic direction, communicating that direction within Hunter Water, to the community and regulators and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. The People & Culture team is responsible for providing strategic and operational HR advice to Hunter Water so as to ensure that the Corporation achieves organisational success and the delivery of professional and effective HR services. Overall Role Purpose The Senior HR Business Partner is primarily responsible for leading and supporting across all generalist Human Resources activities, including recruitment, on boarding, performance, ER, remuneration, administration, HRIS, reporting and implementation of HR initiatives for the HR Team. The role is also responsible for being the contact point for designated business groups and building strong relationships across Hunter Water to keep a current understanding of key issues and focus areas. The role also has leadership responsibility for all HR administration and systems support team members. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership to all operational support roles in the People and Culture team that have responsibility for generalist administration and HR systems support. Act as the key business partner to assigned business areas across Hunter Water for all HR matters building relationships and offering advice and thought leadership on organisational/ people related strategy and execution. Proactively identify employee and organisational needs and raise awareness, acting as an advocate for employees and managers in a manner that promotes trust, open communication, and problem resolution

3 Lead, with the Manager People and Culture, the organisational approach to assigned functional areas across the People and Culture team with may include Recruitment, Onboarding, Performance Management, Remuneration, Employment Relations, HR metrics etc. Provide strategic and operational support and advice across all relevant functional areas of People and Culture including but not limited to Recruitment and Selection, Employee Relations, HRIS and data management systems, Performance Management, Remuneration and Benefits, HR metrics and reporting & general HR administration. Lead the Recruitment and Selection process including position descriptions, advertising, interview panels, candidate management, reference checking and system / process administration. Contribute to a harmonious employee relations environment through timely and accurate support to employees and line managers on policies and procedures and Hunter Water compliance with industrial instruments (agreements, awards etc.) Lead and co-ordinate the performance management and Remuneration and Benefits frameworks including the organisational approach along with all yearly activities. Lead and/ or support projects and work as part of the team to ensure seamless, timely and professional delivery of HR services. Deliver excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with strong customer focus Work efficiently in a deadline-driven workplace and effectively manage challenges and changing priorities whilst still meeting team and corporate deadlines Support in generalist administration, HRIS administration and system improvements as necessary. Education / Experience and Skills Formal Education Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline and/or relevant work experience deemed equivalent to the level of the role. Relevant IMS training within 6 months. Desirable Relevant HR Certifications or accreditations. Work Experience Demonstrated HR generalist experience with the proven ability to deliver business focussed HR services in a timely manner and build strong collaborative working relationships across a range of business areas. Demonstrated experience linking organisational strategic plans and HR operational plans / requirements to deliver relevant, accurate and high quality HR services

4 Strong experience across relevant functional HR areas including recruiting, on boarding, performance management, remuneration, employment relations, change management, HR policies, grievances and discipline, systems and metrics Strong experience in employment relations including negotiation and interpretation of employment instruments, entitlements, policies and procedures to provide accurate advice. Strong experience designing and reviewing HR practices and/ or systems. Skills (Technical Knowledge etc.) Knowledge and understanding of contemporary HR practices across key functional areas including recruitment, on boarding, performance management, remuneration, Employment Relations, change management, HR policies, grievances and discipline, systems and metrics Knowledge and understanding of relevant employment legislation and the ability to interpret and apply industrial instruments Highly developed relationship management skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Proven analytical and problem solving skills and superior attention to detail along with the ability to develop and produce timely and accurate HR reports and metrics HRIS skills Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Behaviours Model Hunter Water s organisational values of Well-being, Innovative, Honest, Excellence, Courage and Collaborative.
